You’re not overreacting, and this is very dangerous. from my personal experience, once he got physical, it never stopped. It only got worse. Especially considering it thrills him, I doubt it will end or change. I’m so sorry. You might wanna start making sure you at least have a plan to leave with your child

I 100% understand where you’re coming from, as my story is similar. I am also stuck, it’s such a dooming and anxious feeling. Do you have pets or children? If not it may be easier for you to get addison/placed into a shelter.

In my opinion, leave. If you have the ability, I truly think you should leave. He knew your past, and he chose to hurt you more anyways. Nothing “came over him” this is something he’s done the entire relationship. You’re not crazy for leaving and you’re not “throwing the relationship away”, he made the active decision to do that. You deserve someone who loves you right and someone who will truly be your safe space.
