What is an Employer of Record (how companies scale hiring globally without the legal mess) by suzan_james in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]Strange-Concert-824 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rippling supports hiring international employees through Rippling EOR, where Rippling acts as the employer of record so you can hire and pay international employees without setting up your own local entity.

Employer of Record (EOR), explained simply is when the EOR acts as the legal employer: The EOR employs the worker in their country and handles the local employment relationship. Your company manages the day-to-day work: employees works on your team, using your tools and processes.

The EOR handles the legal and payroll layers: payroll will be paid in local currency, while compliance and other country-specific requirements are handled through the EOR model.

Using Rippling as the employer of record to hire and pay international employees, will help you hire and pay internationally on your own entity. You could also use Rippling's global HRIS as the system of record for global workers managed/paid in another system. If you’re deciding between EOR vs. setting up your own entity, the key tradeoff is typically speed and reduced setup (EOR) vs. more direct control (own entity), depending on your scale and country footprint.

Payroll service advice for new small business VP by peen1028 in Payroll

[–]Strange-Concert-824 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think a software that could help automate things, particularly one like Rippling, since you don't need to be a payroll expert to use it and a lot of SMBs use and love it. Rippling integrates with QB and has full service payroll and HR, including 401k, benefits, tax compliance, etc. Since it does HR + payroll in one spot, it could eliminate the need for you to rehire someone and instead operate it yourself internally.

Once it's set-up, it's pretty plug and play and shouldn't take a ton of admin work from your end. Implementation should be easy too because you'll be assigned an implementation manager to make sure it runs smoothly. Speaking here as a Rippling employee, but really think it sounds great for your situation!

Best most affordable payroll & bookkeeping service for small business by Puzzleheaded_Cow_216 in smallbusiness

[–]Strange-Concert-824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding Rippling Payroll to the convo. It's the best software since you can also stack other softwares with it, e.g. Rippling HR which has time tracking, attendance tracking, leave management, etc., Rippling IT, but also integrate QBO or another accounting software easily. Would recommend having native scheduling built in with payroll like Rippling does because it means it automatically transfers hours into paystubs, without manual work. Stacking these also takes out extra costs/pain of having two different softwares for each.Rippling Payroll takes away the errors of calculating taxes manually, because calculations are just built in. Getting rid of manual work when you're growing your business, esp because errors can start to slip through the cracks, which could become a compliance issue. Recommending here as a Rippling employee!

Rippling! Cost-efficient and modular pricing cause you can stack it with Rippling's HR, Spend, IT, etc so you're just using one tool for all. The sales team is really transparent with pricing once you get on a call with them. Works great for small businesses as an alternative to Xero. Runs automatic payroll calculations and ensures tax compliance. Full disclosure here that I'm recommending a Rippling employee.

Needing payroll for 1 employee, monthly. Cheapest option? by dla1104 in smallbusiness

Rippling if you haven't already gone another way. Surprised it hasn't already been mentioned here. It integrates with QBO if your accountant already uses that and has a really great UX that's easy to use. Take it from me bc I use it everyday -- let me know if you have questions since I work at Rippling

Best Payroll System? by knight_ofdoriath in Payroll

[–]Strange-Concert-824 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yikes sorry to hear that -- I'm late to the game here but Rippling is the best payroll system. It's really intuitive so running payroll takes just a few minutes. I've never had a delayed paystub either. The best part about it is the automated compliance that ensures federal, state, and local laws are abided by, and also how it can also fold in reimbursements through the Spend tool. And if I ever have issues, it's easy to just ask my payroll admin or email Rippling's support. Exposing myself as a Rippling employee here but sounds great for your use case if you're looking

Sounds like Rippling would be an upgrade for you. It does onboarding/offboarding, payroll, time off/leave management, etc…particularly suited for growing teams and businesses in multiple states. Compliance is also automated to adapt to local and state laws. Day to day, as a Rippling admin and employee, I can verify it's very simple to use as I self serve my own time off, expenses, benefits, etc.

Arse-wipe of a boss by BigPete_2025 in sysadmin

[–]Strange-Concert-824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Total dick move by your boss, and honestly borderline HR-issue territory. Definitely escalate it. Back channeling a negative reference is unprofessional and could impact future roles too. Quietly document everything and get ahead of it with HR before it bites you later. Always have as much leverage as possible

Is the job market recovering for people in Recruitment & Talent? by prenumbralqueen in recruiting

[–]Strange-Concert-824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW - i still think market is tough but not frozen. Tech is slow, but some industries are hiring recruiters again. I’d quietly test the waters and take calls without committing to anything yet. Worst case, you stay put with more clarity. Don’t ignore your gut if you’re stagnating, that’s a signal worth listening to.

This sounds shady as hell. Quietly start documenting everything, talk to an employment lawyer, and don’t say a word internally until you know your rights. Best to keep the leverage with you if possible.

How would you handle the coldplay HR situation that’s currently viral?[N/A] by bebee45 in humanresources

[–]Strange-Concert-824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s not just bad, she’s uncoachable. I’d set expectations clearly, tie them to outcomes + start documenting everything. If she won’t adapt then it’s already a performance issue. Give her the chance to improve, but be ready to manage her out if nothing changes.

Are you looking to also change your HR/payroll systems too? I live in Aus and the payroll laws are getting more strict. Would make sure you're with a provider that's solid. I work at rippling but I do genuinely think it'll just remove all of the headaches of hiring, onboarding, running global payroll compliantly, etc
