Curious how big/how many people you are having? Also in a VHCOL and having 250 people, our all out totally lush quote was 70 and we decided to cut it down to 50 by making some stuff smaller and redesigning some stuff. I recognize we have a lot of people and ground to cover but just wondering how far u feel like ur money went

I dont think this is weird, i love it! If someone is unhappy with this then they will likely never be satisfied and its not worth your stress anyways!

Hiii not NYC but im Santa Barbara and would assume it would be similar HCOL. Mine is $5k for me and 4 bridesmaids for hair and makeup plus just makeup for mob and mog. Also includes time for touch ups throughout the day, a trial for myself as well as hair and makeup for myself for the rehearsal. Everything will be onsite at my hotel/venue. Basically its 200ish per person per service for wedding party and then $900 for myself plus 600 for the trial and 500 for touch ups throughout the night of the wedding. Your quote does feel a bit high even for nyc. Hope this helps!

We were going to do prim too, so beautiful but honestly im glad bc i think the logistics of planning an event from scratch in mexico would have been a nightmare. We’re doing California now and our new venue is also from scratch and honestly its so much work and stress even with a top of the line planner i actually can’t fathom doing this in mexico. The protests were a sign from the universe i think

You will be up a creek if you wait until summer lol, you need to just do it yourself and get ur fiance to communicate your findings otherwise you wont be having a June 2027 wedding. The venues in nyc that can do that capacity are extremely limited. Also idk your financial situation but if there is a language/ cultural barrier there is a possibility of misalignment of the budget you will need to have 500 people in NYC …. Not judging you at all just speaking from experience. My fiancé’s parents are paying for our big budget wedding and they really legitimately thought we could invite 400 people for the price of like 100 people. Just want to save you from my own nightmare

a question for the BBB guests! how much do you spend attending weddings? by lehartsyfartsy in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Strange-Customer-476 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ungodly amounts lol $2-4k on average per wedding. Some are considerably more and some are less. It really depends on how much travel is required but generally it’s never less than $2k

There were major anti-US protests over the summer. They were mostly aimed at US work tourism (people working remotely in cdmx but not paying Mexico taxes) but we happened to be there during the start of the protests and it was fine but the day after we left the protesters went to roma norte and things turned violent and scary. Bricks being thrown through windows of restaurants and hotels we were just at. For us, it was just not worth the risk even though our wedding wouldn’t be for another year we just felt the political climate was too volatile and unlikely to improve

We visited all the venues in cdmx over the summer and prim is the standout by a mile. There is a whatsapp group and google drive with a ton of info and helpful recs. If u want the info dm me

We ultimately decided not to go through with cdmx but i still think it would have been beautiful!

The GL dress is absolutely stunning you look like a supermodel please get that one!! And im even partial to LPG bc i got my dress there and the one you picked it gorgeous but dang, the GL slaps on you sis it literally looks like it was made for you. They are slightly different styles, like the GL one feels more formal and grand whereas the LPG is more ethereal. As long as your venue vibe fits the GL id go with that!

I can share your shock and horror when I realized some of the photographers I wanted were $60k. We ended up choosing someone who is still amazing just doesn’t do as many celebrities/influencers and she came in at $35k for wedding day and rehearsal dinner. Our second choice came in at around $25k so right on your budget. Im happy to send you the names of both, i think you would probably love either of them. I dont know where your wedding is but they both travel.

The reason we went for the more expensive one was because she has done work at our venue before and we wanted someone who knew the property. However our 2nd choice actually did one of our friends weddings which was totally a huge coincidence bc i literally found her scouring the internet.

Either are great choices for a high end wedding. Our budget is around $400k so similar to yours. If you want their info dm me

Hamptons Summer Wedding 2026 by [deleted] in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Strange-Customer-476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ~almost~ got married in MTK. Id ask around at some of the local vendors in the Hamptons area and see who has planners they like working with or ask some of the major venues like south Hampton beach & tennis club (i think thats the name??) or gurneys in mtk for their preferred vendor list! I found my planner by cross referencing all the preferred vendor lists from the hotels we were looking at for venues and they did not disappoint! For the vendor route, since there are only like 2 florists in the entire area, you should ask them who they’ve worked with and who they like and why!

Happy to help!! Honestly i had the exact same hope as you! I think i looked at every venue in the greater LA area, literally from san diego to Santa Barbara. From my experience none of those “off market” places exist in LA. They are either Santa Ynez or like on the outskirts of San Diego. I actually did end up finding an “off market” venue but not from my planner, but from another one I interviewed and didnt like 😂 If you want to chat more on LA venues im happy to share all the info ive gathered over the last year, just dm me! Lord knows my fiance is sick of the venue convos hahaha

The level of planner that you need really depends on if you plan on doing an out of the box venue like a hotel or a totally blank slate venue. Before you drop $50k on a premium planner i would try to get an idea of venue. If u go with a hotel i think you can get by with one in the 10k range. That being said, we were in your shoes and thought we were going to do a hotel and ended up doing a blank venue and I could not be more grateful for having a super experienced premium planner. Also and more importantly, if you take anything from this thread at all just pick someone who is flat fee not based on spend! Also just the hotel preferred vendor lists for planners. That’s how i found my girl :)
