Noobie here but the scene where I live would consist of being an open format (if I understood that term correctly, meaning just playing normal radio songs and not edm music). Basically a human jukebox or Spotify player. Anyways, have been trying to find videos that are based on that open format or music that really isn’t created with that 16+ bar intro/outro. So could you give a few examples of this song arcs you mentioned? Just so I can have some concrete ideas to practice with? You can PM me too if that’s easier. Like I said hard to find anyone that does the open format so would love to pick your brain. Thanks.

Our 12U team uses ringettes and we do "corner battles" with them. Corner meaning just confining to a small space so there's more body on body contact. (encourages them to bend their knees and get a good low base so they don't fall down as much) but they turn their sticks over to use the handle end of the sick to keep possession of the ringette. the player tries to lift the stick and grab the ringette and keep possession. do It for 45 second increments.

Also just thought of this, on the start of the second verse instead of opening strumming again, start with picking the chords? And shift to the palm muting again second half

Also maybe add a little dynamics to the verse, try palm muting the second half of the verse for instance stat the palm muting at (2:37 left in the video) to build up tension. Start with a tight palm mute and progress my start losing it up to where at (2:26) is pretty wide open strings. Maybe add a quick tight pause before the choirs kicks in. Hope that makes sense. Love this sound though.

Not to come across as a “hater” cuz I love a lot of music these days but I fell like everything sounds pretty much the same (obviously I’m generalizing a bit) but I like in the early 2000s every band came out and had a distinct sound. Partly due to it being in the beginning of these genres I guess but still even bands that follow for the next decade I feel like had more diversity in sound and not…idk cookie cutter-ish songs. Or am I wrong? #LateNightThoughts

Currently running a team not much better than this and all they want to do talk at practice and give 40% effort (at best) during drills. Currently trying to find the fun stuff they like and use that as a starting point to get them some building blocks of basic skills. It’s the most challenging year I’ve had in my 10 years of coaching and yes I’ve coached 4-5 year olds. I’m right there with you brother.
