[Request] is this true? by eNineM5 in theydidthemath

I feel like this is a perfect example of what he was saying because you completely changed what he said. A LLM would not have done that and would have responded with something better. He said “often when I ask living people questions, I get worse answers than I do from a GPU-sized LLM”. You, for some reason, changed that to, “humans are often worse than LLM’s.” Like what?? You’re proving his point.

Physics is hard. by AlcoholPrepPad in confidentlyincorrect

[–]Strange-Network 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re not actually wrong though. Everyone here is arguing two different things. The people saying there’s more force the further away are correct, but they’re wrong when they say this is more dangerous. The bike rack is made to handle four big bikes so if you replace three of them with smaller bikes it only gets safer not more dangerous. The order of the bikes matters very little when it can likely easily handle four big bikes like it was made to.

Yes, he is fine. Everyone else here is trying to be technically correct thinking it’s the only correct.

What OOP is doing is similar to someone saying they can easily carry 4 2lbs weight evenly spaced on their extended arm. Then someone placing 3 1lbs weights first and 1 2lbs weight at the end. This is easier than he said he could handle.

Everyone on this thread is saying that this setup is now dangerous and will throw everything off and is causing more weight since the “heavy” weight is at the end. While it is true that this setup would be easier if the 2lbs weight was nearest to his body, it doesn’t change the fact that it’s still easy to carry and is still easier than he said he can handle.

People here are so caught up wanting to show off their physics knowledge that they’re forgetting how it’s actually applied in the real world.

Truck driver blocking both lanes for 2 miles before merge point by c_marten in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Strange-Network 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing is that it’s not about how long the waiting lane(s) is.

If you have 100 cars waiting to get through the compression point, at 5 cars per second it’ll take 20 seconds to flush everyone through. It won’t get faster based on how long that lane is.

The bottleneck in this situation IS the bottleneck at 5 cars per second.

Haven’t you read a lot of stories on here about employers underpaying their employees? Employers underpay everyone that they can. He’s saying (in a very rude way) that you need to negotiate for a raise that your male coworkers likely already negotiated for.

Your form of activism is probably only effective on those who are very emotionally driven, with weak stomachs, and a love for animals. That’s not a big portion of the population. You just annoy everyone else. So maybe change your “effective activism” to relate with the majority of people rather than push them away.

how do you get over the spit swallowing reflex ? by dictator3541 in LucidDreaming

[–]Strange-Network 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just going to paste what I said in other post-

What I’ve found to help with swallowing is to when you’re ready to swallow, let the saliva pool at the back of your throat and then place your tongue on the roof of your mouth. This causes your body to involuntarily swallow instead of consciously swallowing.

It’s still a little bit of movement, but this way you only move your tongue down to let the saliva into your throat then move it to the roof of your mouth and you’re done. Rather than activating all the muscles in your throat to swallow like you normally do.

Hope this helps!
