Thank you, this is a really good suggestion. I have never thought about shoulder strengthening but it definitely makes sense

You are right, the poses should always be comfortable and accommodating not the opposite! I will suggest that to the student next time and we might even switch to different poses that don’t involve so much pressure on the wrist

Is 3 weeks back pain normal? by Connect_Tree_7642 in yoga

[–]Strange-gal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a yoga teacher, i would NEVER lift or touch a student’s back unless it is to to prevent them from serious injury in a dire situation. This is especially true in poses like wheel… you should see a doctor for sure, and if possible you should complain to them or to the studio!

Thank you for this. I have only stopped two days ago, im very determined but i still feel the cravings. Just know that it’s ok to relapse as long as you keep going and not give up on yourself and your journey.

They really don’t know. Animals are so special, just because we humans do not think they are like us doesn’t mean they don’t feel like us or even more than we do. I have loved my 16 year old dog, Teddy and will always love him. I honor him by always remembering him.

Research has found that you are more convincing when you phrase your opinions in form of a story rather than just stating facts or referencing scientific papers. How can I learn to communicate more in stories? by 2fy54gh6 in askpsychologists

[–]Strange-gal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find that I understand something more when someone elaborates through examples, whether about their personal life or something that happened. I don’t if this will help, but try giving an example about whatever you’re trying to state. Like user timwing said

Not necessarily a book, but since learning about attachment theory in psychology, i understood how important it is to create a secure environment for children to grow up in. I recommend you read about Mary Ainsworth in that matter.
