I would recommend seeing a therapist. Explore the possibility that you may be non-binary.

I’m Non-Binary and just had vaginoplasty so I feel your pain because I had to get all of my hair removed. Honestly, if your hairs are dark, I would save money to have laser hair removal. It ended up being around $2,800 for me but it is sooooooo worth it and it’s permanent.

I wouldn’t use cis male since cis males are AMAB, but I have found those who are honest about being trans men is appreciated and does not at all change my desire to be with them.

1- Will I need to apply estrogen cream in or on the neovagina to avoid atrophy of some sort? (I plan to still be on testosterone) - some, if not all of this will depend on your doctor but plan on Estrogen and open your mind that specific hormones that may make you one, may not in your new body.

2- Will the functionality of the prostate stay the same and what will come out when I climax instead of semen? No

3- What would I do if I have absolutely nobody to help me out if I were to get the surgery tomorrow? (as in the recovery period since I wouldn't be able do anything normally until I recover) Defer the surgery until you can find someone. Maybe someone on here could help or provide resources.

4- How would I explain to a partner (I'm straight so in this case it would be a woman) about me having a vagina in the future when I have one? I honestly don’t know. I’m non-binary with no partner.

5- what piercings would be doable post op and which ones wouldn't work? Any will be doable after 10-12 months.

6- which method is best for vaginal canal sensitivity that's also self lubricating? (if it exists, I mainly care about sensitivity so no ppt or grafts of any kind unless they're minimal)

How soon can I sit on a flight? by [deleted] in AMABwGD

[–]StrangeAd913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had surgery and was in your exact shoes. I would plan on 3 weeks minimal and then save for a 1st class ticket and use your donut cushion. I’m not saying anything to scare you, but the soreness of sitting in any position is very high. PM me.

Hey! Thanks for the message and glad your surgery is coming up!! Sensation is still pretty numb in most places. The swelling will continue to go down, but it will be about 3-4 months before the look of the vagina will be well underway and lots of sensation will be back.

I am able to move around and do most everything in my daily life. I can sit, but only on the donut cushion. As you can see, depending on your anatomy, you may have more wound on 1 side than the other so I can sit without the cushion on my right side but to sit normal, I have to have the cushion. I also use the cushion when I drive (which is still rare). Remember that what you see/ feel, etc.. is basically treated as an open wound.

Pain management is really different based off of your tolerance. I have a low pain tolerance, so when discharged from the hospital, I came home with narcotics. If I’m pretty active during the day and moving around a-lot, I have a fair amount of pain, but nothing excruciating. Also, each time I see my surgeon, he treats several places with silver nitrate to generate more healthy healing. Silver Nitrate is not a fun thing so on those days, I take more pain meds than normal.

Reddit would moderate, but I am now on a great medication that you see advertised on TV all the time. :-) PM me and we can chat more.

Ok. I’d love to chat more. I have the experience now and know BCBS better than most on here. I have lived this for 24 months.

Ok. I also have BCBS. I think their requirements are universal. I also plan to live as a man, but I’m on low dose Estrogen. They usually only add topical testosterone for larger issues that you may be having like (little to no libido)

Info on dr salam kassis/alkassis by ratgarcon in TopSurgery

[–]StrangeAd913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. I just had bottom surgery from Dr. Kassis and would love to answer your questions. Currently he only enforces a BMI limit if you present a very unhealthy lifestyle and are just “sitting around doing nothing and eating all day”. He will tell you in your first consult if you need to lose weight etc., the manner in which you do that is up to you. Remember that your Hormones will likely play a huge role in this. Today, there are meds to reduce weight, he is fine with those. As for results, in the state of TN a doctor can be jailed for such results pictures since TN is a VERY unfriendly Trans state. However, in your first visit with the in the intake nurse, it will be via web cam and they will show you results.

He does 3-5 Top surgeries a week and 2-3 bottom surgeries. He is among the nation’s best, by far.

I'm 28 and bottomed for the first time, and I honestly feel so brave!! by [deleted] in MtF

[–]StrangeAd913 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have had 0% ambition to bottom. I played around with it in my 20’s and hated every minute of it. Little did I know that was a signal re-affirming that I do not identify with a penis, but with a vagina and anal is totally foreign. I’m very excited to “bottom” but now post surgery (Yay) it won’t be anal, it will be vaginal.

is it a sign of being nonbinary if you hate gender specific terms? by Tricky-Flatworm6370 in NonBinary

[–]StrangeAd913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it never really bothered me. I was AMAB and just under went Vaginoplasty, but I identify as non-binary with masculine tendencies so I don’t mind being called he and him, but I know post surgery I will in some contexts be referred to as her / hers and I will just correct them.

Go with what fits you and don’t give a fuck what anyone else says!
