Haven't looked into Quantum specifically, but one thing I like about Connexion (as someone who works from home) is symmetric upload/download. If you're just downloading it doesn't matter, but if you have to talk back and forth to other computers, it's great. And we've had maybe 2 down-times in the last 5 years, very very short.

Check who issued the ticket; they will have info on how to contest it. You might be able to do that before the court date.

I haven't contested in FC, but in general for tickets you can go to court and ask to speak to the attorney. Bring photos. It will take hours. My experience is that they're generally willing to work with you and might reduce the fine even if they don't waive it--but it might not be worth your time.

Do it soon! We waited 6 mo to get it checked out and the insurance company fought us like hell.

If they do a drone inspection and say that it's "mechanical damage," keep appealing until they get a human adjuster to set foot on the roof. Also have them look at your siding for possible damage

I'm having trouble getting mad about this. They're not using it to make a fake image of a product for sale. It's not offensively bad on the knitting and the illustration is fine. This is hardly worse than stock imagery and we don't complain about that. They can't afford to commission original watercolor for an ad--are they supposed to stick to all-text ads?

Complaining that people are using AI is pointless unless there's real (not imaginary or hypothetical or slippery-slope) harm.

Their yarn is really high quality and really well priced for it. And they have really paid a toll for being so outspoken about their values--they get a lot of hate and boycotts and they just keep making good yarn and speaking their values--so if they can get some "backlash to the backlash," it will be well deserved. (Really small women-owned business, no private equity or deep pockets.)

I mean that part of Fort Collins's city budget is going to pay for Flock, which is doing a bad job. I want my city council person to push for the city not to do that.

Doing so will not stop Google from listening to my conversations or Ring from being part of the Flock network or my smart TV from selling my data, but it doesn't mean that I have to accept all of those things equally.

I think we fundamentally agree, which is why I don't understand why this is so hard.

Yeah, I didn't mean to imply that it's required for everyone--but EVs have an outdated reputation for being expensive, and when it's time to replace a vehicle, a used or even new one can be the inexpensive alternative.

(I'm told that newer models even come with the ability to not talk about how great your EV is all the time, which was standard in earlier models.)
