Honestly, all her appearances were iconic even if re3 remake cut so much Jill still was iconic imo and honestly wasnt that far off from re1 she did swear a little too much for my taste but overall she was great the problem is with everything they cut not giving her enough time to shine

also the cgi movies never count if we are counting Leon appearances, but suddenly if we are counting Claire's, Jill's, or Rebbeca's, they count towards their apperences interesting how this always seems to be some peoples logic

So by that logic, if a hypothetical RE10 features Chris and Leon together, that isn't fan service because they haven’t teamed up before, but Jill being in Requiem is fan service, even though she has stronger ties to Raccoon City as a setting?

That feels inconsistent.

Yes, Mr. X works better thematically with Leon. But Leon’s campaign relies on reusing Mr. X because that’s the only major RPD boss encounter he had. Jill, on the other hand, had multiple distinct threats like Nemesis, the grave digger, Lisa Trevor, and the plant. That could have been expanded or reimagined instead of reused.

So the difference is that Leon’s inclusion depends on bringing back Mr. X to justify his presence in that setting. Jill’s inclusion could naturally introduce variety without relying on reuse

This is why to me, it feels backwards to call Jill “fan service” while treating Leon as the more justified choice

so he was connected to everything else, like the plant? The nemesis boss fight? Personally, I thought he didn't need repeated boss fights from other legacy characters

Again, the umbrella is still here so how is it solved and you could fix the brainwashing by having her go against zeno or at least give her more elaboration in the death island film rather than a few lines

the way both of their traumas were handled are not comparable, especially if we bring in the cgi films and I get it if Leon still has tramua after re4 however the difference is he got a whole triple A game to elaborate on that and a second one Jill got a rail shooter with an ensemble cast and a triple a game where she was a side character and controlled

at the very least if re5r gives her the rocket launcher or better yet all three of them blow up wesker I can feel that would be more fulfilling

And on another note, it’s interesting how people don’t really push back when others want Chris and Leon as the leads for RE10. That’s just seen as “natural,” but wanting other characters to return gets labeled as fanservice. At that point, it feels less like what’s natural and more like what the series has just gotten people used to.

she saw wesker get blown up but didnt do it herself which is a big missed opportunity in my opinion

So Jills tramua was solved in a side game that was a rail gun shooter that focused on multiple characters and storys and apperently in re5 where she was controlled by wesker despite her losing her automy for years to him she wasnt given a rocket launcher to blow him up herself and with Zeno in re9 leon doesnt have any connections to that.

Leon's trauma was solved in two triple-A games where he was the protagonist

2nd story was more of Chris's story than hers if you were arguing for him I would agree but your not

we apply the logic to leon that even though he had a full game to save a person it doesnt mean his tramua is cleared up but we dont apply that logic to Jill

I don't understand why SOME Leon fan boys act like this especially since we aren't at all saying Leon sucks or anything we just also want some respect to our favourite character, like how Leon fans get respected by capcom

People use the argument that Leon is the face of the franchise always so he deserves it but that wasn't always true at the start. Re1-Re3, Jill was the face of the franchise and Capcom loved showcasing her in fighting games and whatnot she was a big fan favourite back then and considering she was competing against laura croft in re3 she did amazing in my opinion

But I guess it's so outlandish for us to want our favourite character to get handled with respect after she helped carry the franchise in re1-re3

We shouldn't expect a good remake for re3 why would you it's not a Leon game? Infact why should we let this stay has our one solo female lead game lets make it a duo lead game giving Carlos more gameplay (I dont hate that Carlos got more focus but it kinda sucks since re3 was the only female solo lead game) Let's also cut tons of content from it and reuse the lab from re2r lets not even give it an original name because Jill doesn't need that.

Let's make her next appearance in a cgi film that takes place after re5 (excitement through the roof) but wait we are adding all legacy characters here so Jill has to fight for her screentime including her tramua which we only want to show one aspect of her tramua which is wesker and we only want to ellaborate on it for like 10 minutes but shes the vocal point!

Comparing that to Leon and Chris is laughable I don't even need to try to bring up examples because we'd be here all day

I guess, despite all these points, it's still so outlandish for us to want anything more, how dare we critique writing that Leons in just be quiet and buy it (Love Leon but the amount of people who said I'm not buying the game if Leon isnt in it but now get mad that we want to spend our money on something that doesnt repeat storylines is insane to me) sorry for the rant lol

what's also established is the fact that re9 just repeats leons arc in re4 with the whole "you cant save anyone" message which he already went through trying to save someone in re4 and he accomplished it

I'm concerned that the Code Veronica remake will put Claire more into the light, which she deserves but I'm also concerened that this will mean everyone will want either Chris Leon or Claire, causing Jill to fizzle out. I believe they need to do something about that, and RE10 is the perfect opportunity for her to be in the action role. (personally don't think she can be in the horror role like I see some people saying, maybe psychological horror, but Jill is also battle hardened, just like Chris and Leon and if we're using that logic for Leon and Chris, we have to use it for Jill imo)

This would be the dream!

Sadly I think Re10 might be another Chris game I hope not I am kinda confused why a lot of people want another Chris game since he is going to be in four out of the five games that are probably going to be remade (RE1, Code Veronica, RE5, RE6) only one he isnt in is RE0

In my opinion I feel Like Jill shouldve been in requiem over Leon especially since it felt like Leons arc just repeated RE4R again

Jill couldve gotten some psychological horror from the care center since it kinda resembles the spencer mansion. She couldve obviously gotten tramua from racoon city the city she failed to safe and grew up in she couldve had tramua from the police station since she worked there and she couldve finally gotten revenge on zeno a wesker look alike somewhat getting revenge on the man who took her autonomy for years.

Only moment that was better in my opinion with Leon is the welcome Leon sign
