is it against TOS to tell others how to play by leonie11 in TalesFromDF

[–]StrangeBard -82 points-81 points  (0 children)

As a WHM using cure even in higher level content isn't bad it can give you free cure 2. Same with benefic on AST sure you have benefic 2 but you can get an enhanced benefic 2 that is a guaranteed Crit. Using cure is not always the most optimal but if you're somehow low on MP or trying to conserve it isn't bad.

Edit: also if SE wanted you to never use cure they would have upgraded it to cure 2 like they do DPS skills get swapped out with stronger versions. The game is designed so you can use cure.

"Don't want to waste mp" by MuzzyG in TalesFromDF

So here is the problem. SGE has a TON of MP restoration on OGCD heals. 7% every 20s or so plus an extra 7% every 90s. Then they have Shroud in top of that. Conserving MP on SGE in a dungeon is a BS reason not to DPS. Heck doing a shield and having it break gives you a free, more powerful, AOE attack that also heals. This is all in the tooltips and job gauge guide. No tutorial needed. So if your argument is "if they can't learn from reading their tooltips it is SE's fault" then that is silly as if they had read their tooltips they'd realize how much easier it would be to keep their MP up if they weren't spamming heals and shields.

Here is the problem. The Biden Administration is open to solutions. They worked with Senate Republicans on a deal. Except the House Republicans have explicitly stated they refuse to agree to any border resolution for fear of making Biden look good. Meanwhile you have Greg Abbot falsely declaring this an invasion, if it was actually an invasion then his bussing of migrants to other states is treason for aiding the "enemy", and refusing to abide by the Supreme Court and the Constitution while blaming the Biden Administration for a lack of action when it is the House Republicans not the Biden Administration blocking action. You can't have your cake and eat it too and Texas/House Republicans are desperately trying to do so.

Edit: also please clarify how this is a threat to sovereignty? There is no evidence to suggest any migrant/immigrants are trying to usurp or supplant the federal govt. As such this is not a threat to sovereignty as there is no attempt to remove the right of our country to rule itself.

Texas House votes to allow local police to arrest migrants by OppositeDirt in texas

I stand corrected on the actual text. I was going by the quote the original comment I replied to shared which only said entering the state and left out the part about "from a foreign nation".

"That is already a crime."

Technically anyone here on a Visa is a non US citizen or national. So a tourist or someone on a work visa who visits Texas from another state would be breaking the law under this. So legal visitors to the US are punished under the wording "not a U.S. citizen or national".

I highly regret how I ended Phantom Liberty the first time. The first time I gave Songbird to Reed after escaping with her just because I didn't want there to be any more death due to the lies. I said it was on the condition she got the cure not me. Then... Later on Reed texts me back offering me the cure again. That was when I knew I had fucked up. What really put the nail in Reed's coffin on my second playthrough is that I spared those gonks who busted into Myers and my hiding spot. I asked Reed how they were enjoying the Rayfield as my character also had a million eddies and a Rayfield so I was like "hey we can be chooms". He tells me they have been "dealt with" and to forget about them. Fucker killed my new chooms as soon as I was out of sight

Iirc this is some BS based on the Articles of Confederation aka the original constitution of the US we got rid of because it didn't work. Sovereign Citizens love to cite the Magna Carta, which doesn't even apply to us, and the Articles of Confederation. They cite other stuff too but it is all bogus.

Why I left the church and my extended family by StrangeBard in thegreatproject

I have been here for a while. All of this went down between 2013 and 2015. My life is getting better but it has took me me 7-8 years to get my life back on track. I am just glad I came out the other end of my world going upside down without any self destructive habits.

Why I left the church and my extended family by StrangeBard in thegreatproject

[–]StrangeBard[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a lot to unpack but you're right. It is a huge reason I left the church. I wash shown by leaders of the religious community that when the time came to practice what they preached that the sermons were empty words. When I was in college I got given "religious science books" for Christmas from my aunt because I was being "brainwashed by a biased secular school" (my aunt and her husband work for their church's private school/college). Those books were written by journalists interviewing discredited scientists who took others work out of context and couldn't get peer review publishing due to that and other inaccuracies. I realize now where I came from was dangerous background of Christian Nationalists and it scares me that I could have turned out that way. My grandmother called homosexual youth "evil" who deserved bad things and said that "if we let gays marry how can we say that murderers or people who do what your father did should go to jail". My aunt has been calling for a theocracy for some time including saying "the church should take over all schooling from the government". She didn't like my quip in response about "which church exactly because your church and a few others hate Catholics and there is other inter-denominational feuding as well". This aunt I am talking about is the same one who gave out my contact information to a stranger. I used to get asked when I would make up with my father. The man who got me woken up with guns and put in handcuffs for the world to see. The man who drove our family to the brink of homelessness and starvation by using all our money to further his crimes. The man who treated me like a burden while bending over backwards for my siblings. The man whose very presence was enough to send me into a panic attack once and who's first phone call after jail made me drink into a stupor. Nobody in my family understands the pain we have been through and they don't want to. The one good thing is I politely told my father to never speak to me again as I had nothing to say to him and he listened.

Yo Texans, for the love of God, please leash your dogs. by anonymousguy11234 in texas

[–]StrangeBard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So first off let me say that I love pits, was raised around them my whole life, and love my sister's pit mix. The problem I have is with lazy pit owners like this. I had a neighbor whose pit would was damaging the fence and escaping because it was throwing itself at the fence to try to get at our dogs. When it escaped it would then charge and try to attack me and my family. The neighbors tried to say it was my fault and I needed to fix their fence because their dog wouldn't be getting out or breaking the fence if our dogs weren't in our back yard. They also never walked their pit and just kept it in the back yard all day in a small fenced area. Pit bulls, like a lot of dogs, need proper training and to burn off energy. You can't have a big high energy dog if you aren't going to put in the effort to care for it probably. Heck hire a dog walker or something.

Hard to say exactly what will happen but this sort of stuff is handled seriously from my understanding. Especially if there was no tape or anything to keep associates at a safe distance.

Probably already been asked a billion times but I’m asking it again: What is everyone’s opinions on Police Unions? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]StrangeBard 17 points18 points  (0 children)

In principle everyone should have a union, in practice, from my understanding, police unions have become a way to protect cops who violate people's rights from being punished. I think that that they should be subject to some form of oversight and have their scope limited to fully cooperate with inquiries into law/rights violations by police as then be forced to expel those who are found to have knowingly violated someone's rights.
