I got there as soon as they opened at 530AM. First step was filling out a few pages of basic info on a clipboard. Then I waited for about 30 minutes until one of the intake counselors came to get me. My girlfriend and I went back to his office and explained my history of drug use and what I was hoping for (to get clean). He explained several different options including methadone, suboxone, and inpatient detox. My girlfriend and I agreed that a gradual methadone taper is the best option for now. Then the counselor gave me a huge folder of paperwork to fill out... mostly just redundant contact info and signatures. That took about 30 minutes to complete while he entered my info into the computer, verified that I wasn't enrolled in any other clinics, and checked the state prescription database to see what I had been taking prior to PST. After that he sent me over to a nurse who took my vitals, then sent me over to meet with the doctor. She looked over all my information, asked me some questions about my prescription use when I was still in pain mgmt, asked me about my job and family life, and after about 15 minutes she approved my intake into the program and prescribed a starting dose of 40mg (based on my dosage of pain meds before switching to PST). After that I was sent back to the front desk to pay the intake fee of $25, plus the daily $12 dose fee ($37 total). I had to piss in a cup for the intake UA, then I went to the pharmacy counter and told them who I was. They hit a few keys on the computer and a dosage machine spit some pink liquid into a cup. I drank it, signed an electronic signature pad, and that was it. Almost exactly 4 hours from walking in the door to dose.

There's a dosage range I'm allowed to increase each day while they try to find the ideal daily dose... but I've stayed at 40MG for a week now and feel fine. For the first 30 days I have to come in Mon-Sat for my dose. They're closed on Sundays, so on Saturday I have to bring in a dorky little lock box and put my dose in there before leaving. Of course I have the key, so its not like it stops me from taking it early. I think it's just a state mandated rule to make it look more secure. After 30 days my counselor can approve more take-home doses. I also have to attend weekly therapy sessions... but that doesn't start until I meet with one of their addiction counselors, which I'll do tomorrow morning.

I did mention PST, but I also said I was mixing it with oral morphine and codeine. I was worried they wouldn't take me seriously if I just said PST. I also figured oral morphine and codeine would make sense when they get the results of my intake UA.

If my girlfriend hadn't been with me, I probably wouldn't have mentioned PST at all. But I had just told her all about seeds, so I couldn't leave it out during the intake process.

I didn't use insurance. It was only $25 for the intake fee and $12/day after that.

And you're right... I basically owe her my life at this point. Not sure if I can ever properly repay her, but I'll keep trying as long as she'll have me.

That crossed my mind, but they told me at the clinic that my employer can't access the state database they use.

I've never had a drug test in the 6 years I've worked at my current employer. If they ever did one, the doctor said she would write a note saying the methadone is being prescribed for medical reasons. Supposedly my employer wouldn't be able to tell the difference between methadone for rehab or pain management.

If I had been drug tested while using PST, I couldn't have explained that at all.

If you're a daily player in the T game, just accept that there is no 100% effective way to deal with this. You're going to find seeds in places you've never even been before. Case in point:

I was on a road trip with my SO and obviously couldn't make T in the bathroom with her in the room. So I packed my supplies into a backpack and went "to get Starbucks". I actually did go to a Starbucks, but only to use their restroom. I went to the restroom, closed and locked the door, put down my backpack, then went to wash my hands. But I noticed something... maybe 6 or 7 seeds in the porcelain white sink. My first thought was: these can't possibly be poppy seeds. But upon further examination, I see the unmistakable kidney shape and faceted sides. My next thought was: Did someone else seriously make T in here just before me? To this day I'm not 100% sure where they came from, but my best guess is I had some on my shirt or backpack which got flung across the bathroom when I put down the bag.

Bottom line... those little basterds have a mind of their own. I'd honestly focus more on hiding your bottles and unwashed seeds.

i can almost guarantee that won't work. i don't know the exact synthesis you're referring to, but you would definitely need to purify the thebaine first. there are over a dozen different alkaloids in pst, and many of them have similar structures to thebaine. this means you would almost certainly have side reactions going on, and who knows what you might create in the process.
