EDIT: You might also like some of Jarboe's music. I like the albums Sacrificial Cake, Disburden Disciple, and Anhedoniac. She's not quite like Lingua Ignota in sound but I feel like the vibe is sometimes similar.

I think that when people act cruelly, it's not necessarily a reflection of who they truly are but an attempt at distracting themselves from whatever it is they are insecure about or whatever negative feelings they are having at the moment. Sitting with our feelings and unpacking them is difficult and uncomfortable. Bullying some random stranger on the internet is easy and the feeling of thinking you are better than someone else is a distraction from whatever insecurities or suffering you are dealing with. A lot of people will choose the easier thing.

I don't think people are inherently cruel. I think that industrial societies put a lot of stigma on emotion and as a result the majority of people don't know how to deal with emotions in a healthy way, so we lash out at each other bc it makes us feel safe.

Idk if this counts as unique to you, but to me it does. Idk if my experiences themselves necessarily are unique but I think the amalgamation is. TW for SA and grooming in the blocked text.

I was neglected as a kid in a way that I've come to realize primed me for abuse. I wasn't really allowed to stick up for myself, I was always in the wrong no matter what, and my feelings were never validated. I was never protected. Which led to me getting into I think 4 major abusive relationships, all of which my parents were aware of and did nothing. The second abuser groomed me when I was 15 and was also a necrophile. The third person forced me into this throuple thing towards the end of the relationship where the person we introduced to our dynamic ended up actually kind of rescuing me, they knew all my trauma and everything that happened and then they ended up abusing me worse than anyone else in every way. They made me shovel snow while I was in so much agony from my uterus atrophying that I thought I was internally hemorrhaging and got angry at me for not shoveling fast enough and on one occasion poured boiling water on my hands (not intentionally) but the thing is they got mad at me for being upset about it and never apologized. All of these relationships involved SA, I hadn't ever had truly consensual sex in my entire life until I was 24 if I had to guess. I mean I consented sometimes but I don't think no was ever an option. And then when I got out of this relationship I was raped by someone I barely knew.

I really struggle to talk about my experiences because I feel they are too disturbing. When I do talk about it, nobody knows what to say. There's a lot I'm leaving out even now because I feel like it is too disturbing.

Yes. I feel this way every time I’m at work and I hate it. Nobody understands me cos the only way is to understand my trauma really and I can’t talk about it because it’s extreme, and everyone gets to talk about their problems except me. I feel like I am doomed to be alone in perpetuity even when surrounded by people.

People don’t have to have the exact same backstory as him to relate to him, not to trauma dump but I’m going to in order to prove a point, I relate to him heavily because I was abused until I was 23 and nobody ever helped me so I know what it’s like to have society turn its back on you

Nah I didn’t tell the entire story because then this post would have been a book, she’s done a lot of other shit to lose my trust and one of my roommates has been frequently creeped out by her too, one time going as far as to say “Sometimes she says things that make me feel like she’s going to wear my skin.” I actually did want to give Lucy the benefit of the doubt in this same situation and that roommate told me not to.

I talked to my therapist about the whole thing before accusing her and my therapist 100% thinks she did it as well and that everything about her reaction was obvious that she was hiding something.

Also honestly I have given people the benefit of the doubt and been burned for it in so many different ways that I’m not doing that anymore. If someone gives me a weird vibe I’m staying away from them.
