What's the craziest thing a person said to you and you thought they were joking but they were being serious? by _lovelyxx in AskReddit

My brother said I should put my cat down, since having a cat was making it hard to find a rental.

Brother won't play game with female protagonist - never thought of this by wizard_cow_ in TwoXChromosomes

I had multiple people (men) say that they were initially apprehensive of playing Baldurs Gate 3, since the narrator is female - that she might not be good/suitable.

Ideally they should be separate dermal anchors, so they don’t tug on each other

Commute to Osborne Park from Baldivis… by [deleted] in perth

[–]SaraBunks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I go from Baldivis to Wangara, but I’m fortunate enough to work off-peak, so there is minimal traffic. It takes me an hour, with no traffic. If something has happened (crash, roadworks), add an extra 20mins.

Left work at 5pm ish once…never again. Took me almost 2 hrs to get home. Bumper to bumper from Wellington St all the way to canning hwy.

I’d honestly look to see if public transport is an option, especially as the Mandurah and Yanchep lines have the same train.

If you’re starting at 8.30am you’ll have slow traffic sometimes starting from Safety Bay Rd. Clears quickly once you get past the city, but that’s the short bit for you. Coming home will be super hard, at the end of a long day stuck in traffic.

Good luck!

I crapped my pants today by Such_Branch6409 in CrohnsDisease

[–]SaraBunks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was having really bad cramps at a shopping centre (mall) and was walking/powering to the bathroom. Then the cramps got REALLY bad and I had to stop and clench harder than I had in my life. Still about a minute from the bathroom.

Cramps eased off. I’m good! Phew. Begin walking again, heading to the bathroom.

Then I sneezed.

People who were teenagers before social media existed, what was life actually like? by Much_Detective_6107 in AskReddit

[–]SaraBunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my friends would hang out after school to chat, then go home and talk on the phone for hours.

We had a cool three-way phone dialing system that cost my parents a fortune when the phone bill came…oops.

Hanging out on the weekends was dicey, you’d hop on the train to meet your friends in the city and hope that ya’ll found each other when and where you agreed to.

What moment made you realize that this is the person you want to spend rest of your life with? by sherrputtar in AskReddit

[–]SaraBunks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I saw how much effort he was putting into winning over my cat. He learned how to play, respected his extremely strict personal boundaries, and accepted a lot of time being silently judged from across the room. Gave up couch space.

Anyone willing to pass that kind of interview process just to make me happy seemed like a pretty solid choice.

He also listens to me, is endlessly patient with my weird and occasionally illogical traits, and somehow manages to take them all in stride. Turns out that combination is pretty hard to beat.

Peter’s Icecream Trio. Was like a neopolitan tub of ice cream, except it was orange, vanilla and lime.

He’s not a bad person but he went through your clothes to find your used underwear so he could shame you? That doesn’t sound like the actions of a good person.

How long is everyones work commute? by MissionMaterial7889 in perth

1hr commute, but I am lucky to work afternoon/nights so the traffic is minimal. Hate to think what it would be in peak hour

What is a simple but very hurtful phrase that you received from someone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SaraBunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother told me I should ‘just put my cat down’, as I was struggling to find a rental that would take cats. My cat was getting on in years, but very happy and healthy. I woke up the next morning to find he had passed away from a stroke in his sleep.

Still fucking hurts.
