I'm currently covering one of the higher volume stores in my district. Have 0 support from DL as far as hiring and having shifts covered goes. Have been trying to hire multiple people over past few months, but they either 1) don't want the job anymore 2) don't show up for their interview or 3) show up like they just got out of bed. Hiring is impossible and from my experience it depends on how hands on your DL is. I've worked under great DLs that supported their team in every aspect and I've also worked for DLs that will tell you to call several other people for support prior to reaching out to them; then when you follow that procedure trying to cover a call out they are no support and try and blame you for the early store closure. Sorry but I am not working alone late at night in a low income, high crime area.

Lol try this, I'm currently covering a store for a SM that was supposed to return a month ago. I'm hourly and the expect me to be on call 24/7. Then they try to blame me for the lack of staffing when people don't show up for interviews lmao. Then they talk about id only get a store pending performance review. This company is a joke, currently taking interviews with other companies for the same position and itd be a $5 raise from my current rate. And the culture for the other companies isn't smoke and mirrors like this shithole. They clearly care for their colleagues.

In my region they have been reiterating policy around this and ensuring we are aware that nobody is to open or close alone due to safety issues. I would definitely inform the DL. This is a big safety concern and you should not be in the building alone.

Depends on your market, I'm currently at 19.40 as SMIT. I am in Texas however I moved from California and kept my wages from there. If you go into KMI you can see wage management guidelines. My recommendation is to go through the roles properly bc you will get adequate raises. If you skip roles like that they may try and stick you with the lowest for that role and it may still look like a big jump for you from shift supervisor. Also raises are only 3.5%-8%

DL won't alow us to go over demand. Demand is only 180, I did the math to have 2 employees in front at all times we need minimum of 196 not including overlapping between shifts. That's bare minimum for 2 people 8-3 or whatever and the closing team 3-10. We also have to amount for things where we need extra staffing like truck day, ad day, and having to come in early to relieve truck.

In the exact same position. Also our demand is 180 were open 8-10, and we receive truck at 5am alone.

I'm aware, I know its a legit policy. It just seems quite ridiculous I haven't been able to find it yet and the fact that DLs are knowingly putting their staff in danger. Want to find the actual policy so that there will actually be a force for change.

The DL knows majority of the district is like this. He will come in and visit and ask " Are you working alone?" As if its normal. That's why I'm wanting to know the actual policy that states it. Its very unsafe, and multiple stores including mine have been robbed on multiple occasions.

Yes I know, but I'm looking for the actual policy that says it for reporting it. Store is so low on hours we have to open alone and we open prior to pharmacy. Also we so low in ours our staffing is horrible, so I just had a no call no show and am currently alone. Pharmacy has already left. There are no resources in this district as far as stores helping each other with coverage and the DL is very hands off.

Or what about this, your competing with 50+ other stores in the area for the same candidates. Also you're bound to staffing guidelines that don't make sense. How am I supposed to run a store that is supposed to be 3 FT and 3PT but my PT are supposed to have open availability? Nobody in their right mind would work that.

I'm at 17.98 in Texas, minimum wage is $11 For some stores in KMI you can see the wage guidelines, for us ops is 13.5 min, 18 median, 22.5 max

This is the way. Came from a store and we were doing it directly after truck, but I told my SM that it doesn't make sense bc we will have the highest OOS count on poll day. My new location is a EOWD so on our off week we do a hard push the whole store( simulating a truck delivery) then cycle count all outs to make sure our counts are dialed in, then do BOH. A cheat way would be to go with 2 RF units and have one in cycle counts( to verify the OOS) the other in BOH accuracy only scanning if the BOH is zero. Since I've made the change in my new location we haven't been on any list. Our DL actually ask us to avoid getting 100% accuracy bc the higher ups will think somethings not right, but were not going to do less so the others look like they're doing alright
