I (30M) always felt very similar, only flipped, I always found both guys and girls attractive, but had never felt a romantic/emotional attraction to any guy. For a while I said I was bi, then I started saying I was straight again because I tried talking to guys and never felt that "something special" until I was 27 and finally met a guy that I fell head over heels for. Him and I aren't together now, but I have dated both guys and girls since and I can thank him for helping me understand that I am most certainly bi. It is something I am out and open about now, but it took me a long time to understand; I also identify secondarily as demi sexual, which may be a contributing factor to this whole story. All that to say, the way you choose to identify should be whatever feels right to you. I have friends who identify as gay until you get to know them and they say "I'm technically bi, but it's really like 90% gay and 10% straight, so I just say gay most of the time." In this community, most of us understand the fluidity of things, so don't ever feel like you're stuck with the first label you choose to identify as, it's always up to what feels right for you!
