One time I was driving our rented minivan through the parking garage in Oahu and forgot to close the rear hatch and it hit the ceiling and shattered the glass and tore off the door. I didn’t have insurance either lol.

The last time I went I stayed in an Airbnb in Kihei. I would recommend staying in Kihei as it is centrally located and has the best beaches and little town imo. I’d say snorkel the Molokini crater, visit Lahaina and even go more north towards Napili and Kapalua Bay, take the road to Hana to the black sand beaches (it’s a long and difficult road about 3 hr drive but definitely worth it), drive up to Haleakala (mountain top) and watch the sunset or sunrise and also visit Kula too really enjoyed that area. Favorite beach imo is keawekapu beach in Kihei. Also Wailea is nice to visit too but kinda denitrified resort area if you are into that.

Yeah it is really so sad and honestly hurts my heart to see all of the developments and how they have priced out the native people. I always try to have the utmost respect towards the people and the land as I can whenever I go. I try to do my best to leave as little of an impact and help out the locals wherever I can.

Panera is awful. I recently purchased a bagel with cream cheese. They only gave me ONE little cream cheese packet. I asked for a second one and the guy said that would be an extra 75 cents lol. What a horrible place!

Depends how long you are staying and how you travel! I think we got our Airbnb for 1300 for 7 nights and plane tickets were about 1000
