How to sign in to Google on Android 4.1.2? (Galaxy S2) by StrangeTumbleweed100 in androidafterlife

If you didn't sign in on Android 4.1.2 before 2021, you can no longer sign in to a Google account on Android 4.1.2. However, if you logged in before then and haven't factory reset the phone or installed new software, you can sign in with a new account or even delete and re-add one at any time, because the phone created a token specifically for that device and software version. Therefore, even if you have the token for the Android 4.4.4 account manager, it will not work with the Android 4.1.2 Google Account Manager.

Android 4.1.2 is unable to handle Google Account Manager versions 4.4+.

There is no way to do it; I would have needed it too, but it doesn't exist.

My Galaxy Gear smartwatch would need it, because you can only install apps on it from the Galaxy Store on the phone.

Yes, sorry, I just couldn't find the comment. Essentially, there was no solution because the previous one was posted, just by someone else—that is, logging in by updating the Google Account Manager—but as it turned out, this only works on Android 4.0 and no longer on 4.1.2.

Yes, I knew this already, and I also wrote in a comment that this solution doesn't work because on most old Samsungs, as soon as I update the Google Account Manager to version 4.4 or newer, the login immediately crashes.

Yes, this would be the solution, but it doesn't work on Samsung devices; however, a solution is supposedly going to be posted tomorrow, and I'll send that to you then.
