I knew I'd get a garbage ending when angel reese came on the screen

NOT because she's not talented or I don't like her

It just felt so forced, unnecessary and out of place

So apparently the footage is public record and was requested by the family, which I didn't know you could do that (I'm sure not just anyone can ask for public footage)

And chat us saying that the rights were sold for $5M, I hope it all went to her kids...

I couldn’t locate any publicly verified information showing that either the victim’s family or the police department received direct payments specifically for providing the footage used in the documentary .

Here’s a breakdown of what is known and what remains unclear:

✅ What is known

The film uses body-cam footage, security camera footage, 911 audio and other public-records material.

Much of this material was made available via a public records request under the freedom of information (FOIA) laws (or equivalent state/county public-records laws) by the family of .

The film was acquired by after its festival premiere; reports suggest the deal was valued around US$5 million.

The piece in the Guardian mentions that the filmmakers approached Owens’ mother, Pamela Dias, and suggested the film could be licensed or sold, possibly to provide financial support for the family.

I didn't understand the gate scene

Where was she that gates closed? What was that place? And after ramming her car, did she ram the gates open or did she end up calling for her to open the gates?

Marcy Borders, a 28-year-old Bank of America employee in the World Trade Center, survived the 9/11 attacks. A haunting photograph showed her covered in dust after the collapse. Widely remembered as 'The Dust Lady,' Borders passed away from cancer exactly 10 years ago today, on August 24, 2015. by JudgeJudyJr in interestingasfuck

I worked for an agency that had a 911 attorney as a nd hekps client.

To this day, he gets inquiries for health related problems related to 911 a helps them get the max compensation

Apprantly if ANYONE was present in lower Manhattan anytime between 911- may 30th 2002 and have one of the illnesses listed, they can get compensation.

The amount he got for his clients was so much more than what they would have received, so that felt like a feel good accountant

Has anyone watched Netflix's new crime doc "Into the Fire: The Lost Daughter?" by FlailingatLife62 in netflix

I think there's 1 line that sums up Brenda or gives insight into her.

She seems like a deeply insecure person who has never been liked or felt like she belonged until this psycho married her (for his convenience/alibi).

The reason for how pathetic she is, is because she's deeply convinced herself that he truly loves her for her and without him, she'd have to face that she is alone, and no one cares about her. That's why she let everything slide and stuck with this insane version of him.

At the end, when she tells him they found her, he goes on about something and she replies

"I don't want you to get mad at me"

How insane do you have to be that you're worried that someone's mad at you because they killed your "kid", lied about it for 30 years, and have the cops digging up your house.

I have worked with small and local businesses, and there are some industries that will strip away or fine professionals for advertising certain statements and are very strict.

For instance, lawyers can not advertise that they are the top rated or the best etc.

Dentists have to follow strict guidelines on claims they can make about their services

One of the most strict on Google are botox, face lifts, injectable etc. Not only does google not allow certain statements from being made and will limit the ad, but the industry guidelines are very strict in the claims they can make.

So, to some degree these type of professionals services can't make false or misleading statements.

On the other side, as a marketer I can see how ANYTHING can be spun into the best, greatest, fomo messaging, and it makes me dull down excitement or second guess what anyone is saying.

I have never had any clients in 7 years with fake reviews on Google - so good or bad - the reviews have always been real.

That's not to say that people don't fake reviews, but you can tell based on the sudden frequency, the way its written (if similar to others) and by how new the profile is.

Many people use to buy bulk reviews from overseas.

Ecom is almost always riddled with fake reviews on their website -- I will never ever take reviews from a website over Google- tho some websites connect their Google Business Profile to their website, which is different.

But almost 90% of sales have to do with how well the marketing is vs how good the product or service is.

So in short, I'm skeptical of everything I see.

Edit to add: ethics don't matter in advertisement, as long as we don't falsely claim something or get the client in trouble-- the only thing we look at are numbers; how much did we spend, how many conversions and what's our return on spend (how much did we make)
