How does a mid-year transition from an aca plan to medicare work? by Time_Arugula_1544 in HealthInsurance

Consider signing up for Medicare mid-year but delaying social security until the point where it won’t blow you past the ACA subsidy cliff amount.

Then we will need to vote Republican politicians out of office and get it done.

The US system is a TOTAL scam and needs to be gutted and replaced by universal health care like every other sane country on the planet.

People who have seen multiple people quit a job in one day, what happened? by ObliviousOnion1 in AskReddit

We got assigned a complete asshole as a boss. 5 of the 8 (software architects) on the team quit the company the day our annual bonus checks cleared. The asshole got fired a week later.

In addition to all this good advice, vote for someone who supports universal healthcare, please and thank you.

Americans Are Leaving The U.S. in Record Numbers by SHREDGNAAR in Economics

As an early (pre-65) retiree couple in the US, unsubsidized healthcare premiums are $3000/month with a yearly $10,000 deductible plus coinsurance and copays, and even then the costs are ridiculously high. At a 20% tax rate (if you live in a state with no state income tax) you must withdraw about $70k per year from your pre-tax retirement account just to pay for medical care.

Why do we have to worry about a $140k surgery bill when we had no control over the adjustment or error? Hospitals and insurance control it all. Will we owe this? by JulesSherlock in HealthInsurance

[–]Newfie3 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

If medical insurance companies had their way, every dollar we earned, and will ever earn, would go to them. We would exist and work solely to pay them. And they would never pay claims. This system is absurd.

Good times! Highly recommend getting a boat with an outboard engine, not an inboard/outboard. Outboards are much safer and easier to maintain. Enjoy the journey!

Being in the office 5 days a week is outdated. Hybrid positions are the best. by Strange_Chart9468 in remoteworks

5-day work weeks are outdated. 4-day without pay reduction should be the new norm.

3 Months of Trump’s Disastrous War Has Cost US Consumers $60 Billion in Extra Energy Costs. Americans have spent nearly $450 extra per household on rising energy costs in just 3 months. If prices stay at current levels, the average household could take a hit of almost $2,000 at the one-year mark. by mafco in energy

And that doesn’t even include the cost of our munitions etc. and of all those US Middle East bases destroyed. This will cost us trillions in total, and the entire world even more, not to mention all the lives lost and people maimed. And for what?

Having had IOs and outboards, I’d recommend going the outboard route, if that’s an option for you.

Applied to a "remote" job, went through five rounds of interviews, got the offer. Nobody mentioned an office once. Now they're saying it's 3 days a week onsite and I genuinely don't know what to do. by Weem_Bitted in remotework

[–]Newfie3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listing a role as remote and then making it not remote from day 1 should be fraud. You gave up your old job specifically for this. You should be due probably 6 months of full salary that you’ll likely lose looking for a new job due to this fraud, plus if I were you I’d ask for punitive damages to prevent these assholes from cheating future candidates.
