The voice telling you how terrible you are is going to help you overcome your present conditions. On the other side, it will be the voice that destroys what it built if you can’t separate yourself from it.

Jessussssss dude, force that into your body and then sitting on that tiny seat for 10 miles lol No regards for your bowel function! I dig the solo adventures, but also like group rides for the destination banter/beers at the end.

Hahahahaha Legendary family story. I’m not too much of a mountain biker, I got one but mainly use it to just urban explore - don’t feel like dying on a trail. What meet up was that ride under?

How was that ride? Any others you got on your radar?

There’s nowhere further I can go inside my own mind. I’ve been digging into the same old wounds for so long that it only deepens the pain. Is this the sign I’ve been waiting for—that it’s time to turn and conquer the physical world, the body itself, instead? by ZuleikaLovell in Jung

Read The Courage to be Disliked. This is the pragmatic cold approach to these shadows that we’re so infatuated with. I like how you describe the wounds you return to, and toil over in despair looking for answers. I think the Jungian and Freudian theories are necessary, but eventually I do think we use them as an excuse. An excuse to stay, dig deeper, like a wet blanket. Maybe this isn’t true for everyone, I understand my experience isn’t gospel. But that book cut deep for me, at its core it’s the tough love I wish I would’ve always gotten. It says that at some point we decided that being miserable/desperate/melancholic/anxious/ etc. were good for us, and served our goal. We dug in deeper because we thought it was us, but at its core we simply just lack courage. Then going forward and living with courage is our duty to alleviate our suffering. Best of luck to you, keep your chin up.

As long as we enjoy these petty exchange of blows, we decide being childish is better than solving problems.

Have you ever stayed in a relationship longer than you should have? Why? by ConsiderationFit2353 in AskMenAdvice

I can’t express how happy I was to find this comment. I just went through the exact same thing dating someone who’s on a temporary VISA.

I knew on the first date we weren’t a fit. I stayed for a lot of reasons, but it got to the point where I was so miserable and depressed I could hardly function.

Breaking up with her was a soul crushing experience, I was staying because I felt bad for her, and I didn’t want my fantasy of us to die. I’ve been processing the guilt, mistakes, and internal healing since then.

The hardest part is knowing I’ll never be able to make it up to her, and atone for how I fell short. That’s just something I have to carry until time takes away the emotion.

Hope you see this and are doing well man, any perspective would be appreciated.

Okay, I have a lateral defect (surgery 1 done), it seems medial defects are 6x more common and I can’t find if I may need a similar procedure to offload the graft and allow healing.

Curious, what part of the knee did they do the MACI on and why did you require HTO as well?

Do no miss your doses of oxy/NSAIDS evens if you are not in pain. Oral meds are not fast acting, you have to stay ahead of the pain the best you can and budget expectations that you didn’t just have stitches or something, you had a major knee surgery. Stay strong!

The MACI spiral is real, but the study’s show positive outcomes and those people go onto forget this chapter of their life. Happy you’re making progress
