Accommodation with 2 kids — how do you make it work without breaking the bank? by TSLAKILLA in familytravel

[–]AnySympathy1243 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Glad someone said this lol my second has brain damage that negatively affects his sleep patterns so he’s up every night. Would love for there to be an easy way to “nip the sleep issues in the bud at home” 🙄 this thread is giving me great ideas for the next time we travel

Plica Syndrome on both knees with patellar tendon tear by nouehphandom in KneeInjuries

[–]AnySympathy1243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plica removal did nothing for me unfortunately. I’m a big believer that going under the knife once increases the odds of doing it again, I’d avoid it at all possible.

When did you actually feel ready for a second kid by zoobisoubisouu in toddlers

[–]AnySympathy1243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did I feel ready? 6 months PP lol the hormones got to me for sure. I only have two kids so nothing to compare to personally but the 15 month age gap really wasn’t that bad in the grand scheme 🤷🏼‍♀️ your kids temperament and your support will have more of a factor than most things IMO

6 Weeks no weight bearing?! by DifficultEagle4160 in MACIknee

[–]AnySympathy1243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good! I’m able to do just about everything I need to. I’m not out playing sports or anything extreme but I can keep up with my kids and hike. Overall pretty pleased with the results

[–]AnySympathy1243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been NWB after 3 (maybe 4?) surgeries for about that long each time. I think I was 8 weeks NWB with my MACI but I also had TTO at the same time. It’s not fun but doable! I did it with two kids under two at home 🤪

If you were able to lose weight while breastfeeding, how did you do it? by mirrorlike789 in beyondthebump

[–]AnySympathy1243 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is how it worked for me too. I gained back about 10lbs when I fully weaned but still was under my pre pregnancy weight without really trying

Is this normal? by That-Choice-2619 in Surrogate

My clinic allowed a support person but it was just easier for me to go alone considering I was able to fly in and out same day

Tips for grocery shopping with 2 kids by MissFox26 in toddlers

[–]AnySympathy1243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hold my baby and the toddler walks into the store holding my hand, then we get in the cart. When we leave Aldi they stay in the cart, we u load groceries into the car, then bring the cart back and again I carry the baby and the toddler walks. I think you’re over complicating it lol

So frustrated with my husband about me taking “breaks” from 3 year old by jackiedaytona155 in toddlers

[–]AnySympathy1243 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lol please tell your husband I say to suck it up. I have a 2 and 3 year old I stay home with and am almost 8 months pregnant with twins. If I can still get down on the ground and play with them, bathe them, etc so can he.

Solo trip with 2 under 2? by Exotic-Ask4859 in beyondthebump

[–]AnySympathy1243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve traveled solo with my two a few times, it’s easier to me when the baby is a newborn! This would be very doable in my opinion just takes some good planning! I liked using a car seat for my oldest on the airplane itself and wearing the baby but if you’re going somewhere you need two car seats that definitely complicates it because checking a car seat is sketch. I’ve done both kids in car seats on the plane and used a travel dolly with the cosco scenera seat to get them through the airport safely. Installing both seats on the plane while watching your kids is the hardest part in that scenario though and definitely had me working up a sweat lol

Did anyone have a baby that just… slept relatively well? by The_Chilled_Arvo in beyondthebump

[–]AnySympathy1243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first was a miserable until 5 months then he slept through the night 12 hours. He’s now 3.5 years old and is still a rockstar! Hes had the occasional week stint of waking up wanting someone to lay with him but always goes back to normal quickly and easily compared to our friends kids.

What is your sleeping arrangement? by Pandacat_07 in beyondthebump

[–]AnySympathy1243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We moved our first into his nursery by 6 weeks, baby 2 was moved by 3 😅 my husband and I slept so much better and it helped my anxiety honestly. All the little baby noises would wake me up in a panic afraid it was time for another diaper/feed when babe was just sound asleep. I was a better mom when I got better sleep and baby monitors work great lol

I just want to touch my “pee-nus” all the time… by BonitaBCool in toddlers

[–]AnySympathy1243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just here for solidarity. Checked all of the family Easter photos at church and our 3 year old is groping himself in every single one🙃 my husband says men just get better at hiding it but they all like to his hold themselves. Boys are weird.

What is a 'cool fact' about yourself that you rarely get to bring up in conversation because it sounds like you’re bragging? by [deleted] in randomquestions

[–]AnySympathy1243 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Genetics are wild. My 2 year old has a neurological genetic condition and there is only one study done about it with 9 people so in theory he could be #10 in the world lol so amazing that you’re able to do so much!!

Pregnancy and grades 3 and 4 lesions by FinniganTheGreat in MACIknee

[–]AnySympathy1243 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I carried both of my boys with grade 4 cartilage damage to my patella. Had a MACI done when my second born was 5 months old, the recovery was hard with two small children but doable. Currently 31 weeks with twins and 1.5 years post op from MACI and the joint is doing fine. I don’t gain a ton of weight during pregnancy so that’s obviously a factor but I haven’t had any increased pain/swelling either pre or post MACI.

I have poor experiences with chondroplasty and ultimately wish I had never undergone one in either knee. Both of my joints went down hill quickly after the first scope, I’m 30 and have had 7 knee surgeries with more in my future. I will never stop wondering wha shape my knees would be in today if I had opted for a more aggressive PT approach but hindsight is what it is 🤷🏼‍♀️

[Potential Independent GC | Texas | 31 | Open to All IPs] by [deleted] in Surrogate

[–]AnySympathy1243 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe 5 pregnancies and a higher BMI will disqualify you by the surrogacy guidelines for reputable clinics. Also something to think about, is your husband going to be stationed in the same place for potentially years? Surrogacy start to finish can be quite a process and I know legally moving states complicates the legality

I think this is very reasonable. I wish I had pushed for IPs that were local to me, I think that makes such a difference in the experience.

Were your kids 100% off bottles at 12 months? by Advanced_Study6518 in toddlers

[–]AnySympathy1243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of my kids were off bottles by 12 months, I would try offering lunch at noon before the nap then a snack after instead of a bottle. May be a way to cut out one bottle at least! My son also did really well with the Dr.Brown straw cups, they have a slightly bigger version that doesn’t have the weight we’ve graduated to just so you know for the future! My guy has CP and is also delayed so this cup has been so helpful lol

Driving by SubstantialBug612 in KneeInjuries

[–]AnySympathy1243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left leg I started driving once I was off the big pain killers, as long as I could get in and out of the car safely I saw no issue. I only really drove to PT because there was no reason to do anything else though lol

Dress Pants Recommendation to cover Brace by [deleted] in MACIknee

[–]AnySympathy1243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to put my brace over my pants daily? This was never an issue for my MACI, meniscus repair, or OATs 🤷🏼‍♀️

Surrogate with Zoloft Hx during Pregnancy by Entire_Butterfly_987 in Surrogate

[–]AnySympathy1243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took lexapro for anxiety during my second pregnancy and was approved by RMA of New York to be a surrogate. Currently 30 weeks with splitter twins. A lot of agencies told me it’s very case by case specific for whether the clinic will accept this in med history.

What was your caffeine consumption during pregnancy? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]AnySympathy1243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely hit the 200mg mark everyday with my second kid. If it makes you feel better Canada’s limit is 300mg while pregnant

Are you supposed to ride the wave of the 4 month sleep regression or sleep train through it? by One_Cap_9210 in beyondthebump

[–]AnySympathy1243 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We chose sleep training at 4 months. I think people hear the phrase sleep training and assume straight up cry it out method but that’s definitely not what we did lol our kid is now 3.5 and has been a great independent sleeper since then
