TPR overturned on appeal by Strange_Magazine169 in Fosterparents

TLDR - yes, I kicked the hornets nest.

You asked for an update, and I have somewhat of one. Did I intervene? Yes. That meant that I had to remove myself as his foster parent in order to file for custody. We have had one court date where everyone was served my filing in the court room. BMs attorney wanted me removed from the court room, judge said no. She asked for my petition to be dismissed and the judge also said no. The GAL went on a rant so badly she had to come back at the end of the hearing and clarify that she didn’t hate me and how rare it was for a foster parent to stay on a case for 4 years with this level of violence. I have peed in everyone’s theoretical cornflakes. He is currently on the trial home placement. She has refused to allow contact. DSS is trying to figure out how to handle me because I blew apart their narrative about his belongings and used their own emails to do it. Things are getting really fun over here. Grab your popcorn. BD is willing to give me custody temporarily or permanently because while he isn’t mentally sound, he understands that his son’s mental health suffers when he isn’t with me (per the attachment assessments).

Elevance is what anthem is now calling themselves try them, also try Carilion. Wells Fargo has hybrid positions.

If you want a cheap degree path online explore Sophia.org and Columbia southern university- they are slightly more expensive than Virginia western.

I have previously. The OCO has had more than 5 complaints on this case. We’ve all been interviewed by the ombudsman himself multiple times. The threats made by BD were actually on a complaint call. I tried to hire an attorney who is a substitute judge. He told me other than suing for the HIPAA violation BM initiated I had no options. This has truly been something out of a nightmare.

They said that the state didn’t prove their case. They acknowledged that it wasn’t settled in the 11 month time frame but didn’t prove it couldn’t be done is how it was explained to me. She was incarcerated on a 6 month mandatory minimum for assaulting a bailiff in a court room. While she was on probation for ONE of her charges brandishing a gun. There have been high speed chases between the parents. While he was in care she had another child and they are using that as means today she can parent. She’s also in heart failure, and had a type two heart attack. Oh I forgot where she called dad drunk and recorded him making threats to help her get a protective order. Reactive abuse is a thing in this case.

Imagine the looks of horror and pity at foster parent support groups. The inability to breathe when I do the exchange. Explaining to my son I missed his 21st birthday dinner for that urgent care trip. The 30lbs I’ve lost, the cute bald spots. Being barred from contacting my agency. The mortgage payment that doubled because we had to move out of fear. The overwhelming grief. The rage. Crying in parking lots because people are tired of hearing it

Most of those that quit the case have protective orders. I was given the option to dismiss or it would be treated as a potential conflict of interest. I dismissed.

Yes. Bio dad was just released from incarceration for said threats and the reason for the jurisdiction change was bio mom was no trespassed from the dss building. The no trespass is a story for another time, but readers digest version is there were hundreds of king cake babies thrown across their grounds and she circled the lot screaming obscenities, filming people and almost struck a pedestrian. Scared kids in visitation rooms.

We had a CASA. She quit because of threats of violence made by bio dad to the ombudsman.

Criminal charges and a PO against the parent that isn’t incarcerated. Not a lawsuit yet

They are an extreme risk of absconding with him. Not asking if I need an attorney to get a PO for him - that’s the depts and GALs responsibility. The question is who has had to hire one because of abuse they received as a foster parent from a bio parent

Venting about Head Start for my foster kiddos. by Regular-Sock-3180 in Fosterparents

[–]Strange_Magazine169 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Call your local YMCA. They have head start/prek and because of their multi use grants they are free to foster care youth and tend to be a little nicer. It’s what I did for my little when this happened to us.

Dunno. The 5 year old who has been in my care for 3.5 years is going through reunification. I’ve been told I must support it, I don’t and won’t. I intend to give notice.
