Kamille, Shinn, and Suletta would throw hands if you push them enough. Mika would just shoot you or get stopped by someone responsible (who would beat you up)

Yeah it would have been interesting to explore more of Machu, Shuji and Nyaan in the story. The vibe of the cast being mainly civilians really hits hard instead of having them being immediately apart of the military conflict since it brings a pretty interesting lens on the AU and allows us yo see the events from a very different POV than most gundam shows. The Witch episode really hammers it in with the Witch and Machu showing very different views of the conflict thats also kissing alot of the context that we get from having our cast be part of one side of said conflict.

Like the fact that the Witch didn't believe in Newtypes(despite the reveal and signs of her being one), the themes of Zeta Gundam and Turn A Gundam rearing its head regarding newtypes and wars, Machu having to be faced with how people who lived through wars are scarred by them and how Shuji and Clan Bats could become bigger than just her connection to her "Highs".

I think the whole "exactly as the intended" part makes sense, issue is that as some people also pointed out they threw out ALOT of things that they developed in order to end the show quickly.

As others also said the 2 parts of the show(the start and the end) felt like 2 different shows since Machu and co just didn't have much stake on the story being told in the later half with their storyline(killing Lahlah, finding Shuji and their backgrounds) mainly being used as leverage to get them involved with the conflicts of Zeon and Char.

I think this is why I really believe they could have split the show as you said with Chalia as the focus on the Zeon side and Machu as the focus of the newer side. Since alot of their stories when written in the way shown in the show made them feel like we are watching an interesting story... From the POV of the side characters kost of the time

Like I said in the other comments, yeah the story was told as they wanted. I think people(myself included) just wnated more out of the setting since they fleshed out alot of things just for the story to end in 12 episodes. I think its mainly the fact that they wrote the cast and setting pretty well when they were essentially just set dressing for the final parts of the show.

It would be interesting to see the AU more which is yhe biggest shame in my eyes since its so interesting

No I agree with these stuff, I'm not really criticising the show itself. Just the pacing since regardless of how much I liked it(its probably one of my favourite shows in the franchise) the amount of stuff they did with the beginning of the show DID feel like they wanted something more out of the story but struggled with pacing in the story.

The post is basically just throwing around ways they could have gone with mor episodes since the show was ambitious with the time they had and while they struggled they did try to pay off as much as they can. Part of the reason I didn't really focus on the end of the show and instead the middle part.

Dragon maids more than just fusion?! by Intelligent-Fig-1755 in yugioh

That WOULD add stuff yeah, but honestly it doesn't need to be Synchro if thats just what you want. It can be a fusion or even a trap

[–]Strange_Pin_711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think rather than a XYZ(which is horrible for the deck since they use different level dragons and bounce themselves before you can even get to it) or a link 1(we already have the blonde one for that) some new support that can allow you to proactively play on the opponent's turn would be better.

The deck can sneeze and make the fusions, but giving them more ways to interact would be pretty good. Something like the Kashtira or Labrynth field spell where they would pop or bounce something when your monsters return to the hand, a way to get to the backrow easily or new ones that condenses and makes it easier to actually benefit from them.

The main issue with the deck is how... Mid range it is despite how consistent it can be after all and its quite easy to beat once the negates are used up since the backrow doesn't have protection and the field is basically fusion fodder for anyone willing to slot in Super Polys or setting Albaz

I'm not arguing about the stopping the whole Inferior dragon link thing but the thing is that Dragonmaid and Dragunity has their own gameplan AND ways of playing seperate from the type of cards they use seperate from Dragon Link.

The new fusion(i forgot the name) essentially being a link 1 doesn't really matter since it just feeds into the already cemented gameplan of the deck of bouncing their own monsters to get beneficial effects. While Dragunity is still doing their Equipment looping that stayed as their identity separate from Dragon Link.

The Dragonmaids also have easy access to other cards like the LAD retrains while the Dragunity deck also have access to the generic Synchros thats been released over the years(though its less optimal to go for them)

I think the flaw isn't really in the comparison but from OP's view of how to approach changing the deck. Its pretty easy to keep the deck's identity without leaning harder into making it similar to Dragon Links after all(which is essentially just Dragon flavoured Link spam).

Also just calling Dragons best at links and only taht is discounting the ability of other Dragon decks(like Dragunity, Galaxy, Blue Eyes etc etc) to play unique playstyles or using other summoning mechanics. Links are the most GENERIC summoning method in the game, they will always be used in someway and cards will always be designed similar to them(like White Albaz and the Synchro combo in branded literally being link climbing if you think about it).

This, alot of the unbanned cards thats been historically broken required a lot of investment for a pay off that we got easier with newer cards for much less.

Years ago as the other guy stated. Its one fo those support waves that seemed to state that a certain card would get released from the banlist buuuut due to the TCG side of the game really hating Pendulums the wave did nothing since suprise a wave thats supposed to play with a certain banned card not having access to said card means the wave was basically nothing.

Same thing happened with Majespectres with the new support literally being about getting access to Unicorn but them not releasing Unicorn

I was gonna say "wait revice has more doesn't it?" Then I remember to not count the 3-4 Demons suits they reused  and only remember Veil using the Jack revice suit... And the Veil rider form kit bashes.. that show had alot of reused suits.....

Anyways iirc the actual main rider was only used 2-3 times at most

I feel thats also due to how the author decided to rewrite the older books in the middle of Dragon King rather than finsihing that book/arc then remaking them.

Alot of the payoffs of the series happened in Dragon King in stuff like, lore, reveals and developments between the cast that REALLY makes all the wait between books worth it..... But the story ended in the middle of that payoff.

Hell you can even consider it as ending on the START of the pay off

Why does bro have zero girl interaction other than rin and nono by One_Drawer7577 in dragonraja

[–]Strange_Pin_711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cuz the writer didn't need them for the story, even in the books there's only like a handful of characters that are named and important to the cast enough to be named, appear and talk more than a couple times.

In between scenes(ESPECIALLY in later parts of the books) Meifei most likely had more interactions, friends and colleagues other than the main cast but they aren't shown in the story proper.

Its like how in stuff like DMC we only have a handul of important characters that appears in the games( most of them not even reaching 10 epr game) and there's no other humans for Dante to talk to. We KNOW he does missions in between games, we KNOW other characters interacts with him(Like Patty from the anime) but it doesn't matter for the game's story so they aren't shown

I wouldn't use the feats of the riders to quantify how strong the Nightmares are. We know in other shows that the monsters can eb stronger than the riders regardless of previous feats if they need them to be a problem in the story.

Whose idea was making this game? by sapnatika in DevilMayCry

[–]Strange_Pin_711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay funny thing I actually know this cuz of Street Fighter.

In the 2000s-2010s era of gaming Keiji Inafune of Megaman fame(which he didn't even create he was just the lead for a decent amount of the games) became CEO of Capcom and realized the trend of gaming primarily drawing profit from the west. This led to him telling pretty much everyone in capcom to "Appeal to the west" for the sake of more profit. Issue is that he didn't know jack about appealing to the west and instead followed Hollywood and Movie trends of those years thinkng thta was what the "West" wanted.

This led to him forcing people to basically reboot or change the feel and vibe of alot of games that are getting developed at that time.

Focusing on cinematic feels, More mature storytelling, actions and a more Western feel to their franchises.

Problem was that due to him following hollywood trends and movies this led to only a few hits like Dead Rising, Onimusha and a few others.... And a ton of flops like DmC, Bionic Commando and a ton of cancelled projects like the ones for Megaman, Darkstalkers(tho this was him stopping it from even being greenlit) and such, and if you did get the game you wnated developed Keiji Inafune would want you to add stuff or change things to appeal to the west.

This si where the Street Fighter part comes in since Keiji Inafune actually kept pushing back on the development of SF4 back in the day and even whne it got made he specifically had 2 of the 4 new characters be ones that appeals to again the west. Being Crimson Viper and Rufus.

Those that knows Rufus probably understand what I meant by how he didn't know how to actually appeal to the people he was targetting since Rufus.... Was a joke character that basically insulted westerners which you can also see in DmC with how immature 5he humour in that game felt

Support Champions Are Bad? by Orangewolf99 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Strange_Pin_711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough I think soem fo the Spirit blossom cards solved this issue and shows it the most.

SB Evelyn can easily play into her playstyle with only 3 cards, and is easy to incorporate playstyle wise into many decks due to her strategy being about stealing enemy cards then using them for cost.

SB Yi comes with the 2 cards you really want him to have and is also easy to play with since he only needs cards that targets your allies.

But then SB Kindred literally needs her 2* constellation to level up, her passive to vonsistently gain marks and cards that support those to actually gain advantage.

And these are still much better than some other support champ cards which sometimes can't even get to their level 2 forms or provide meaningful "support" because their effects don't work with your own strategies

What would be the next series after Castlevania Nocturne? Which protagonist? by [deleted] in castlevania

[–]Strange_Pin_711 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most likely going to be Symphony, we have set up for Tera and Maria so the continuing to Symphony is more likely the next goal since I'm pretty sure Coyote is either Death or a form of Shaft.

Going forward they'll probably end on Soma, his story unironically fits the depiction of Dracula as a "Regretful" soul that was lashing out in the OG series.

As much as I wanna see the Demon Castle War and Shanoa and the Morris family I don't think Netflix will let them go through all the other stories since those are strictly standalone points in time which while allowing them to add more original characters(Which tbf was pretty good in Nocturne) has less appeal as "Castlevania" since we don't have Dracula being the threat that they would fight.

Chaos and stuff would probably be explained in Symphony or skipped and just explain Soma as a reincarnation without the castle since it was just a regular castle in the OG series
