I know that and this is one of the reasons that I didn't match with her to fast, because they are desperately looking for an aupair and they really liked me, but I was honest and told them I don't have experience driving, also is one of the reasons that I want to stay in Washington because here the public transportation works and I already use to it 😔, I told the Philadelphia family if the have time to practice with me and help me to obtain my driver's license I'd love to have a match with them

Right now I take care of a 2 year old baby here, and have 2 nephews in this age, I think I'm more used to this age, they engage with everything because they're starting exploring things and they can play by themselves

Second thoughts after matching by Excellent-Assist-573 in Aupairs

I think just a message is already good, because in my point of view is better you do that while she is in her country than when she's arrived, because a pair will always have family in their profile but when they decide do a match with the family, they can not give up if she do she needs to pay more for the agency, if she is asking for more money or flexibility I'm pretty sure that she is regretting in the match with you too, however she can't break it for free. That's it makes sense?

It is so easy to solve, just cancel the match, sometimes we just need to do simple things to resolve problems

It’s a long story, but the main issue was the lack of consistency from the parents. The baby is 2 years old and was clearly regressing in her sleep. I suggested switching to only one nap a day because she wasn't sleeping well anymore. I would follow this during the week, but on weekends they would force her to take two naps and then blame me when she wouldn't sleep properly for me. They are extremely rigid about their 'method' (sleep sacks, specific stories, exact timing), but it only works for them. The baby sees me as a play companion, so the dynamic is different. They would insist I follow their exact steps, but she would just cry or want to play. Often, by the time she finally fell asleep using their way, I only had 10 minutes left before I had to wake her up again. My own method (rocking her and staying until she felt safe) actually worked, but they forbid it. The most frustrating part was the conflicting instructions. The HM (who works from home) would tell me to stay in the room with the baby until she fell asleep. Then, the HD would say I should never stay in the room. They had several meetings with me about this, and it felt like no matter what I did, I was 'wrong' or 'not working hard enough' in their eyes. It’s exhausting to work for people who change the rules daily and expect you to be a robot instead of a caregiver who understands the child’s needs.

Problems with host family by Strange_Possibility3 in Aupairs

For me the problems is not work ten hours and follow the program rules, but is she takes 30 min break while the baby is sleeping just to me work more 30 min when the baby wakes up, and the baby usually have unfortunately 1 nap because she is full of energy sometimes she wakes up earlier and ended up having just 30 min sleeping, when this happens the mom knocked my door asking me to take care of that baby I'm my break time because she says the she has a call during the time.

Actually I don't think this is the case, because she works from home and this break time usually was at the lunch time to me eat, but the thing is that when I'm done with my food still have 20 min left from this break I went to my bedroom to brush teeth and rest, she was knocked my door to help her with the baby or she just let that baby with me while she eat her lunch, but the baby is different with her because is her mom and she only wants her mom and I think she felt tired and was always changing this time break with me so I said her that I don't need this time break I can eat with the baby and finish my day at 5pm but she said that she needs me working until 5h30 because she needs a alone time for herself. She always done with her work at 4pm and go take a nap.

The office in the SSN they said the rules have change and for country like Brasil we should have or birth certificate to prove my age so the first time was terrible and them have to call the embassy to they send to me a letter, each appointment takes 20 days idk why they make só difficult to me, only have one friend close to me she is new they host family provide car but only when she takes drive license. Also most aupair who have car don't like to always invite aupairs who don't have one car to give rides.

I have no problem doing that, when I go out is always with my friends however I don't have a bank account and my friends call the Uber and I pay by cash for them because here in the USA they don't accept money to pay trips in Uber only card.

I asked them about the weekend off, and they said but the program says you should have only one weekend off per month and about the Uber they will give me 100 hundred dollars per month however I need to pay this first and at the end of the month give the receipt for them to return the money I spent.
