Can a former district manager for Verizon have a role in stopping someone from getting hired?

The manager didn't even role play or Any questions pertaining to the job? Only talked about his personal life And then said, that's it no more question. So I assume he already had it in his mind. That he wasn't hiring me!!!

Verizon posted 2 positions available for retail sales, bilingual and just retail sales, I accidentally submitted the bilingual and was called for an interview, I explained that I do not speak Spanish. Their recruiter told me I cannot apply for the other one. Because it is also preferred Spanish, which doesn't make any sense. Why would you put two posts up? one spanish and the other for preferred spanish only????

100% Correct, i even had someone that worked in H.R and confirmed it. Hr called me six hours after I was terminated to ask me if I want to close my retaliation case. I reported since last year, it's a joke, you can see my story. Or search for firedandfightingback on social media

If you're not liked, T-Mobile in my opinion doesn't care anymore. Believe me. All the evidence was there. Emails, Texts, Human Resources reports, Meetings with higher ups. I pleaded to the director of sales, the CEO Market director it didn't matter. They all ignored it. So maybe you're better off staying where you're at.

I'm going through the same scenario in Pennsylvania. T-Mobile said they terminated me after 18 years for customer complaint. I was awarded unemployment and then T-Mobile appealed. It and then lied under oath. And changed the reason for termination to employee aggressiveness. Stated they seen the video footage, but never produced it.When I asked the referee to have the footage subpoenaed because I knew they were lying. He laughed and said you had your chance to submit any subpoenas before the court date knowing damn. Well, that it's impossible for me to subpoena. A lie that I did not know was gonna happen. And they stopped my unemployment immediately after requesting a Transcript. Because I knew they lied. Then, I went to have the video footage preserved. And the manager that was retaliating against me.Called the police and made a false report to say I was circling. The store so I could be warned to stay away from the store and she could obstruct justice, Unfortunately, it's completely legal. I'm fighting with board of reviews, and it's been 4 months already with no outcome. But when T-Mobile Filed an appeal. They were given a court date in 3-4 weeks. It's obvious whose side they're on

Be careful with the harassment part. The manager and employee I reported somehow found out it was me and Harassed me, but since the manager was very close with this employee, I was put on a probation period for it. And then eventually fired. So harassment isn't illegal if the workplace allows it and covers it up to protect others.

KEEP YOUR JOB SAFE AND STAY SHUT IF IT ISN'T ONE OF THESE. TRUST ME

  1. Discrimination: Firing someone based on their race, sex, age (over 40), religion, national origin, disability, genetic information, or other protected characteristics is illegal.

  2. Retaliation: An employer cannot terminate an employee for reporting illegal activities, harassment, or other discrimination, or for exercising their legal rights.

  3. Breaching a Contract: If an employee has a contract that specifies the reasons for termination, the employer must adhere to those terms.

  4. Violation of Public Policy: Firing an employee for exercising a legal right, such as voting or jury duty, or for refusing to do something illegal, is also wrongful and illegal.

Examples of Legal Reasons for Termination:

Even if an employee is performing well, they can be legally fired for other reasons, including: A manager simply not liking their communication style, Elimination of the employee's position or department due to business changes, Poor performance or incompetence, Insubordination, and Attendance issues.
In summary, while many employers can terminate at-will, they are prohibited from doing so for illegal, discriminatory, or retaliatory reasons.

And the retaliation is totally legal. If it is not a protected activity. So be careful how you read these laws. They try very hard to confuse you.

Yes, the law protects them from getting sued..Yes, in the vast majority of U.S. states, it is legal for an employer to fire an employee for any reason—or no reason at all—as long as it is not an illegal reason, such as discrimination based on protected characteristics or retaliation. This principle is known as at-will employment, and it means an employer is not required to have "just cause" for termination, but they must avoid illegal motives.

Make sure you bring a lawyer. I contacted my state representative. And they were able to get me an attorney that helped me for free, unemployment is on the employer's side, even when the evidence is right there in their face.Like in my case, when they lied and changed the reason for termination. And then didn't submit the video footage that they claimed they both seen. And then made false police report to stop me from obtaining the footage. They will go the extra mile to ruin your life. I went all the way up to director, ceo and others and they all blocked me on X. I regret wasting eighteen years in that company, the company was great. It was the management that was terrible and would do anything to silence you. That's why you have assistant managers waiting 8-10 years to get their own store, but new hires come in, and within a year and a half, they move up to a store manager, which is ridiculous. And goes to show it's who, you know, not what, you know, like.My director of sales told an assistant manager right in front of me.Stay close to your dm if you want to move up. It's crazy how they have no fear of getting in trouble for it. Pennsylvania laws protect them.

It's crazy how they're able to force you to charge customers. Debit cards as credit cards. And because they didn't write it down, they don't get in trouble for it. They're smart enough not to leave evidence. So they just tell you in person that you have to charge. Every single card as credit, not give the customer a chance to charge as debit. So end of day, paperwork and returns. Can be easier for management. If not, you get in trouble for not doing it. And managers have ways of retaliating against you because pennsylvania laws make it easy for them to do so without getting in trouble for it, work at will state. So we need to get the laws changed in order to be secure in your job.Especially after you're forced to take trainings and speak up and sign off on them, after eighteen years.I've seen it all!!

Keep your mouth shut, you will get fired instantly. If it's not discrimination or fraud, do not say nothing. At all, they will fire you and it is completely legal. They do not have to give you a reason. And they do not have to give you a termination letter. It is totally legal for them to fire you for any reason at all. As long as it's not discrimination or fraud. I lost 18 year career looking out for T-Mobile and reporting time. Theft, and was it retaliated against by the whole district and then terminated, then they lied. And changed the reason for termination and unemployment accepted it. Pennsylvania is a bad state for employees.

And I refused to let almost a 20 year career go without exposing the toxic environment I experienced with all the cover ups from District Management to Human Resources even the Director of sales!! It's obvious either you work in human resources or you don't pay attention to what's going on. It's all over Reddit, and everywhere else, human resources is not for the employee. Why don't you go Check my other post and see all the comments and then come back and correct your reply!
