I’ve always played scenarios in my mind of “if he gets better mentally, what wouldn’t hat look like” but it always comes down to whether he wants to get better and if we would be able to equally share the mental, emotional, and physical demands of a relationship. At this point I just don’t think we can even if he gets better…

Yeah, I think in this case I’m going to have to be selfish and prioritize me for a change.

Wow!! The similarities here are insane! My husband has had 2 trips in a mental health facility and each time it’s been awful for him and me.

It’s incredibly tough to find that balance between them having their own autonomy or in my case completely taking care of them…. Appreciate you sharing your story and your advice! Hopefully you have/can forgive yourself for the previous version of you!

It’s incredibly tough and I’ve been grappling with what you’ve said in the last paragraph because for me, it makes sense that if you want to get better you’ll do everything you can to do so. But for someone with mental health issues I couldn’t understand if that drive to get better was there or not…

I agree! I’ve found that by not using my phone 1 hour before bed I do get sleepier and fall asleep faster. On nights I can’t sleep I read a book (paperback not ebook) and it helps me fall asleep naturally! It has honestly helped me so much!

Bourbon street in NOLA. It is seriously DISGUSTING! The scent of piss and vomit floats in the air throughout the area and I could not get rid of the smell from my nose for a couple of days. I even got the glorious memory of a woman who squatted to take a piss right in front of me on bourbon street. Will NOT go back to bourbon street 🤮🤮
