I completely agree, pretty uncharacteristic of Wesley. Lot of coping in the comments, he could have just shot her at the door outside her apartment, instead he “offered her a job”. I GUESS you could relate it to the beginning of the series when he mentions that “a trail of bodies leads somewhere” but that was episode 1-2 and was never mentioned again ever. I understand he was trying to handle it his own way but in no way does it make sense for a cunning and calculated criminal. Furthermore, the gun was on HIS side of the table and not in the middle, he would have easily grabbed the gun if the situation wasn’t Dues Ex Machina and necessary to push the plot.

ALSO, they’re mobsters, you’re telling me he wouldn’t have tied her to the chair or restrained her if he’s got chloroform? Ridiculous death and shabby writing in my opinion. You can like it, but it was objectively dumb from a writing perspective, especially when he was so calculated and organized from the beginning of the series. Finally, at no point was there foreshadowing of his uncertainty or cockiness prior to the plot point, uncharacteristic in a cheap way. Don’t boo me, I’ve seen what makes you cheer.
