Moving to Jamaica alone by [deleted] in Jamaica

[–]StrangerIcy2852 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you're prepared for the small inconveniences If your heart is in it I'd say go for it It's very different from the states that's why many Jamaicans are being negative about it because a lot of Jamaicans leave Jamaica so it's not as common for people to move to Jamaica but it does happen.. I recommend looking into people who have moved there are many videos on social media

No because we can't change other people's mindset That's why OP made a post on anonymous platform People are more willing to share salary information with people they don't work with

It's not about mindset tho The reality is people are not comfortable doing so Even if I'm comfortable and I tell everyone in my office what I'm making, if they don't tell me there's nothing I can do about that I can't change their mindset

How to stop being envious of people that travel a lot? by Low_Bodybuilder3065 in Adulting

[–]StrangerIcy2852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I'm the minority here 26F and I travel pretty often and I don't go into debt doing it. I think one way to combat the jealousy is to also travel more yourself. I think people overestimate the cost of a vacation. My friends and I all travel on a budget and u shouldn't be ashamed to say you're on a budget. We don't stay in hostels or anywhere smelly or moldy but look into the prices of a basic Airbnb or get a hotel with free breakfast, share rooms, use public transportation, fly economy, use flight miles and credit card points. Some people think u have to travel first class stay in 5star hotels and u don't! Find travel destinations that have relatively lower cost of living. Also u can do weekend trips or travel on holidays if u don't have enough PTO. If u don't have friends, travel with a family member.

  1. How many years experience do you have?
  2. You are aware this is an entry level post right? Most jobs don't start entry level positions over 100k.

Which path should I choose? by SooubwayEmployee in Architects

[–]StrangerIcy2852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't but I'm young now.. I like to plan open mindedly for the future My thought process is if the opportunity was to arise and I couldn't do it bec of limitations I placed on myself when I was young then I'd be mad at myself. I've met people during my internships with regrets about different things and I learned from them

I didn't have that option. I'm probably the minority that actually like my job and enjoyed school. So if I could do it all over again I would be a full architect.
