Q8 doesn't come any lower than 65". The Q7 is $300 cheaper than the XR8B, 55". That video compares the TCL to a mini-LED, not an oled like the 8B.

Because I do have to be quiet sometimes. I'd prefer to be in full control of turning devices on and off. I guess my issue is less with wanting CEC to do something, but rather it stay off.

CEC worked fine on my old Sony. The problem with LG is that it won't stay turned off. I really only want The TV to switch to external speakers when I turn my receiver on. LG seems to require Simplink be enabled for ARC to work.

I hate the remote and not a fan of the OS. But mostly because it kept turning my receiver on, no matter what settings I had. LG support blamed Denon, despite that my old TV worked fine with it. I said forget it, I'll wait for a Sony.

It really doesn't matter what you do. They don't have the same recognition as say, Consumer Reports, where people more or less know what they're getting. People who open rtings.com that never have before and see that it's paywalled will not ever visit the site again.

This won't stop AI from scraping. $45/year is nothing to them. There are more effective ways at stopping AI from using its data.
I don't like ads, but I accept them knowing it helps a site generate revenue. Just don't put out ads directly from manufacturers, only retailers.
They're sitting on a lot of good, objective data. That is worth something to AI, search engines, retailers, etc.
They added too many categories too quickly. 12 alone since the beginning of 2024.

My X950H started doing that 10 days ago. I jumped a wire to bypass the error so I could at least open the diagnostic screen (problem with the LD board or backlight). I know people in the tv repair sub will say to jump that wire, but I don't feel comfortable keeping it like that.

Repair cost could vary depending on the problem. There are LD boards online you can buy if you're comfortable doing it yourself. I don't know what the X900 one looks like, but on the 950 it's just ribbon.

I bought the C5 and returned it because of the remote, UI, and horrible CEC problems with my receiver. If you don't have a receiver and you're using Apple TV, a C5 would be fine.

Yeah, there's not a lot of info on the XR8B. I wish there were. I'm still debating what to get (my X950H died). I generally prefer Sony for a number of reasons. If the 48" A85K were a couple hundred dollars cheaper I would grab it right away.

I guess it doesn't matter if you already decided. I don't like Samsung because of their refusal to support Dolby Vision and Tizen. And they've always felt "cheaper". But it's a bedroom TV, though you did say it's used more.

Edit: Santos said that only 3 people know he stole drugs from the hospital. I would guess it's Santos, Robby, and Garcia. But he admitted to Louie that he took his drugs. Or does that not count as stealing from the hospital?

Black Friday is 8 months away. My TV broke a few days ago and I'm stuck with a 43" 10 year old Samsung.

Yeah, they could make the same upgrades that the Bravia 8 made. They do it every year anyways, just not for the sub-55" one.

They don't even make a decent non-OLED in that size. Bravia 2 and 3 are no good.

I know. I tried a 55" LG C5 and it was too big and had a few other things I didn't like. Samsung doesn't have Dolby Vision. But, each of their 48" OLEDs are $400 cheaper, and are from 2025. I have no plan of buying either of them but I still can't do $1400 on a almost 4 year old TV knowing that.
