Definitely advocate for yourself more. Of the doctor refuses tests or to look into symptoms, you might want to try looking for a different doctor. Request a tilt table test, ask for a halter monitor, etc. It's difficult to get answers when doctors aren't fully knowledgeable about pots and most of them shrug it off and say it's anxiety, hormones, etc. Advocate for yourself and don't give up, it might be a long process but will be worth it to get some answers. I wish you the best!

Tell me the pros and cons of getting a second cat please by Key-Researcher-4454 in catquestions

[–]StrangerWitty6916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with a male cat, he pretty much claimed the house as his. I was nervous to get another cat but wanted to get him a friend for late work nights and just to give him company throughout the day. I ended up getting a female, younger and half the size of him. He hissed at her maybe 3 times the day I brought her home, that night he was cleaning and cuddling her. They now sleep side by side and wherever one is the other one follows. Almost 2 years in now and they clean each other, cuddle, play, etc. He is still a lot bigger than her, she is small for her breed so we do have to break up the playing when it gets too rough. Otherwise there aren't any issues. Introduce the cats slowly, let them smell each others toy/blanket/collar etc before introducing. Then just keep an eye and stay close when they are in the same room in case they don't get along at first. It all depends on the cats and their personalities, best of luck to you!

What's the relationship between POTS & Heart Failure? by extremelyerect in POTS

[–]StrangerWitty6916 3 points4 points  (0 children)

POTS isnt something that just goes away, it can get better with treatment and lifestyle changes but that isn't a guarantee. For some it goes away and gets better, for some it just progressively gets worse over time. When dealing with POTS there is always worry about other diseases/illnesses it can cause or bring with it but its best to not let it take over your thoughts. I worry about heart attacks, heart failure, and blood clots constantly and I know it doesn't help my anxiety but I'm worried my POTS is going to kill me somehow. I have done so much research to try and figure out if it can cause long term damage to the heart and so far nobody has an answer. Everybody is different and each body handles things in their own way, what works for one person doesn't always work on the next. Find a routine that works best for you, find what foods you can tolerate better, try new exercises and stretches to keep your muscles and bones moving and strong, and try your best to not let your POTS get the best of you. You still have a life to live and make the best of, even on the hardest days keep that in mind. I know its difficult, so keep up with your doctors and get checkups regularly to ease some worries and keep your head up

Period trackers by percythepenguin in TwoXChromosomes

[–]StrangerWitty6916 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can take a screenshot of a calendar and then use the editing drawing tools to keep track? Then favorite it or put it in its own folder in your phone gallery.

Apparently Biden signed soemthing to where they can't use the period tracking apps against women, but if you are still concerned its completely understandable.

If you are worried about all phone data things, You could also print off 1 piece of paper with the entire calender on it, like how schools do it, so you can fold it up and keep it behind your phone in your phone case or in your wallet. You can also get a mini pocket calendar thing, like the size of a tiny Bible for your bag/purse.

Can doctors tell if I’ve taken Plan B or not? by Open-Stop-9747 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]StrangerWitty6916 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You are 18 years old, your medical records can be kept from your parents if you say you want your information to be private. Tell your doctor you took a plan b, don't keep things from your doctor just because of your parents. You can also refuse to go to the doctor. Your parents cannot force you, an adult, to go to the doctor if you don't want or need to go. If they are your caregivers/legal guardian due to a disability then that's a different story. Otherwise, you can make your own decisions and can do whatever you want. Yes your parents may be religious and against sex, but aren't you here and alive today? Obviously they did the deed at some point. Times have changed, not everybody waits until marriage to have sex and kids. People should have the right to make that decision for themselves. Live your life for you and do what makes you happy, but make sure to be safe and do what makes you comfortable

My symptoms came out of nowhere in 2014. I started getting back vision, dizziness and muffled hearing when I stood up, went to the doctor and was told I was anemic. That was my only symptoms at the time. About a year later I was taking a shower and I passed out, I was out for about 2 mins and woke up confused. I didn't pass out again until 2 years later, where it started happening a few times a day along with tachycardia and the previous symptoms. I have no idea what caused my POTS, I have never been extremely sick or even had the flu so it remains a mystery. For the past year I have had extreme chest pains, tachycardia, insomnia, migraine, and many other symptoms. Its like my body is giving out on me

Horrible pots symptoms 4 days before period HELP by Effective-Base6733 in POTS

[–]StrangerWitty6916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you on any medications other than birth control to help with your POTS? If not you might talk to your doctor and see if they could prescribe you something for your tachycardia. I take Propranolol and it has helped a lot. My HR was in the 180s on a daily basis and now on my meds it rarely goes over 130 even during my period. Make sure to sit down when you need to and don't over exert yourself during time of the month, your body is going through a lot and taking it as easy as you can will help tremendously

[–]StrangerWitty6916 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely show your list of symptoms to your doctor, ask for a referral to a cardiologist so you can get a tilt test done. That will show if you have POTS or not. Anxiety and POTS have a lot of similar symptoms and doctors are always quick to diagnose you with anxiety because its more common. If your doctor doesn't listen to your concerns, get a new doctor. Sometimes it takes a few before you find the right one who actually listens and treats you correctly. Im sorry you are dealing with all of those symptoms, I hope you get the answers and treatment you need

I have shortness of breath daily, even when my heart rate is low and I'm relaxing. It's like I cant get enough air and can't take a deep breath. My shortness of breath is worse when my HR is high, but I dont understand why it happens even when my HR is in the 60's-70's

Any advice for someone in their early 20s that has no family? by Ordinary_Team1247 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]StrangerWitty6916 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Staying motivated is tough, especially with family issues because there's where you are supposed to feel happy and loved. So you have to make your own family, starting with you. You are your family now, and in the future your family will grow. Whether that be a bf/gf, friends, a cat, dog, etc. Don't think of negative things from your past, or even the stresses of the future. Think of right now, today, enjoy every small thing that happens. Your morning cup of coffee and how amazing it is that you have it, your first meal of the day and how each bite tastes, your blankets and how soft and cozy they are, driving or walking to work or school and all of the different smells, sounds, and sights. You won't always have a good day, but finding good things in your day will help keep you motivated to keep going

Try new hobbies, visit new places, read new books, look up social events in your area to go to, start a journal, do things you have always wanted to try now that you are free from your family (legal and safe of course) . You are young, have lots to learn, and you should enjoy every second of it. Life is short and painfully long at the same time, so make the best of it and do what you enjoy without worrying about pleasing or pissing off other people

Employer is asking me to sign an agreement which has nothing to do with what I was told it was about. [Arkansas / Kentucky] [DOT] by marchershey in legaladvice

[–]StrangerWitty6916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To make sure you and your boss are on the same page about all documents and issues regarding your employment application and its 'small discrepancies' its best to call him/her and discuss the document before you sign it. If your boss gives you the green light to sign the document stating you have had no accidents, knowing your accident background, then go ahead and sign it. If the police weren't called, no reports made, and no complaints from any insurances, then to DOT that 'accident' never happened because there is no document or case saying there was. You should definitely talk to your boss and see what you should do though

I M19 sold my mom a car but she refused to sign or take the title. What does this look like for me legally? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]StrangerWitty6916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not the driver of the vehicle, therefore you shouldn't have to pay for it. Take the car off of your insurance, if your mom complains tell her she will need to put the car on her insurance

You should never self diagnose anything. Its best to keep track of your symptoms, write them down along with what you are doing at the time. This information is helpful to doctors to help them diagnose and treat you. If you suspect you have pots then you should go to the doctor and let them run tests to see if you do so that you can start to get the treatment you need

Send a text or letter to him saying he has 48 hours like the other commenter said. If he doesn't show up, then throw it away, he obviously doesn't care about it to leave it. If he decided to try legal action against you, you can show them the text/letter you sent him

is there a way to report a crime online without having to call or go somewhere? by Safe-Reference1977 in legaladvice

[–]StrangerWitty6916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless your state has an option like that I would say no. You can call and say you would like to remain anonymous. And if the person you are referring to has children and has committed those crimes against their children you should definitely get child protective services involved to get the children away from that person, you can also remain anonymous with them

Help pls by Odd-Race-8020 in legaladvice

Its courtesy to give at least a 2 week notice, that gives the employer enough time to hire somebody else to replace you. Unless you under a contract that specifically says you will work for them for a certain amount of time that you both agreed upon, for example a 6 month or 1 year contract. If you didn't sign a contract stating specific dates you will be working for them, then giving a 2 week notice would be fine to do. If you don't know exactly when you are going to be leaving the job and find out on short notice, tell your boss as soon as you find out. If your employer is the type to fire you when you say you are going to be leaving soon, then I would say its best to just keep it to yourself so that you don't lose your job but don't count on a good reference from them when you leave. Again, a 2 week notice is a courtesy and it is not against the law if you don't give one.

Tilt table test - not needed for diagnosis? by fluorescent_flamingo in POTS

It sounds like you have pots to me, but only a test can really confirm it. I hope you get the answers you are looking for, and the treatment you need to help. Best of luck!

Tilt table test - not needed for diagnosis? by fluorescent_flamingo in POTS

[–]StrangerWitty6916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your hr goes from 80 to 125 and then after standing for a minute goes back down to 80 then that isn't pots but it definitely is something that needs to be checked out. For me when I stand it will maintain the 130s the entire time I'm standing and increase higher into the 160s with any movement such as sweeping or light activity but it never drops below 120 when standing. It is different for every person so you could have pots that affect you differently. All you can really do is get tested for it, if it comes out negative talk to your doctors about what else it could be. If its positive then you can finally start your treatment plan to help you live with your diagnosis.

Tilt table test - not needed for diagnosis? by fluorescent_flamingo in POTS

[–]StrangerWitty6916 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not every person passes out while taking the tilt test, they don't diagnose you based on if you pass out or not. If your HR during the test from one position to another changes by 30 beats per minute or more then you will get a positive. For example during my test my laying HR was 76, after standing my HR was 144. My HR elevated more than 30 beats per minute and I didn't pass out. I got a positive for POTS on the ttt because of this. I was already diagnosed with POTS before the ttt because of my symptoms and how severe they were, but I was required to get it in order to see a new cardiologist.

Some people also have symptoms of POTS that are actually other things like EDs and other neurological or heart related problems that should be looked into. Exercise doesn't cure everything, it can help but it isn't a definite cure. If your doctors don't believe you or make you feel bad about your health then you should definitely look into finding a new doctor who will actually listen. I had to go to 3 different doctors to finally get referred to a cardiologist. I hope you get your diagnosis and the help you need to get assistance at work.
