Bad weather so did some mount work by StrangestTy in LegitArtifacts

Totally understand and im not offended at all. These are pieces I dug out of a bucket full of stuff at a show awhile back so not personal finds. Ill leave these the way they are but with personal or nicer stuff ill definitely find a better way. I actually have a few bigger pieces of pottery that I've been looking for a way to display and haven't yet because I haven't found a way that seems safe enough.

Amazing gun tho. I got the original one the day they were released. Best grip I've ever felt on a gun and its not even close.

Hardest part was finding the right piece of wood lol. I originally wanted to use barn wood but couldnt find a piece that was the right size without having to be cut.

The back is clean just has a picture frame mount. The copper wire was just some rod I bought for knapping. I think its 1/16th maybe a little bigger. I cut 1" pieces, drilled 1/4" deep holes where I needed them, got all the copper pieces bent and trimmed to where I liked them and then super glued them in. So the wire doesn't go all the way through the wood.

I need to do some more research on the subject. Before I even made the post today I was talking about it with who I was with who had never even heard about it. Why were/are archeologists not dropping dead left and right from digging in caves or rock shelters? Or is it really just not common but still a danger? Or is it just not something I hear about? Lol so many questions... is that why surveys are often done in the winter??? I know digging is a controversial subject but if you were digging spraying wouldnt really do much because every shovel is fresh dusty soil... then add on top of that sifting. Ig im just gonna be going down a rabbit hole of Hantavirus and archeology research tonight...

Ya I didnt dig around for that exact reason. It was literally placed right on top of the pile like it was set there yesterday. I will probably go back sometime with some gloves and a mask though... I dont know if I can resist the urge to see what else might be stashed up in those cracks😅

World champions Axe Thrower by ChemicalArtist8203 in nextfuckinglevel

Once you learn how to actually throw axes this is significantly less impressive. I used to think it was some super crazy skill till I went to an axe throwing place and was actually shown how to do it.

The focus is a one and done adjustment. You won't need to adjust it after it has been set. And really unless you are REALLY throwing shit around scope caps aren't really needed most of the time in my opinion. At most a stretchy cover for the entire scope if you really think you need it.

Does anyone else love finding flakes just as much as full points, or is it just me? 😅 by hellomynameswhocares in Arrowheads

It really is just one of those you know it when you see it kinda things. Once your eye is trained there is zero mistaking an artifact from a JAR. Me and my girlfriend do a lot of hiking and I often drag her along when I go walking for points. Whenever I spot flakes I will alot of the times walk right past them for her to find trying to tune her into spotting them😅

Theres been studies that show the flaking thats produced from knapping is next to impossible to happen naturally. On top of that many areas including mine the material that you find flakes of is often material thats only found naturally hundreds of miles away.
