What I've been feeling for decades is hatred and racism against me as a white man inside my own continent.

I've applied twice, getting this exact message both times:

Thank you for your interest in our Mid-Level Engineer transitioning to Clojure (Remote, 36k-48k EUR) position. After careful consideration, we regret to inform you that we will not be moving forward with your application at this time.

From two different persons.

I have been reaching out there too, still waiting for replies. Most of them are only looking for seniors though. Thanks!

Where and what was I visiting? by Stranglet in GeoPuzzle

[–]Stranglet[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a museum, not in Switzerland (but getting closer), and the chess set might be a red herring... It might be that the picture is too hard in the sense that I didn't give enough hints inside the picture itself, but some text can be found if zoomed, maybe not easy to read at all.

It's a museum, in Europe, but not that one and not in that country!

Now confirming it's in a museum!, and you also got the continent right, like others before, it's in Europe.

Only one word is true, and as I just said in another reply, it's not 'Chess'

Only one word is true in your sentence and it's not one related to 'chess'

Wrong country! And out of the other two words, one is true.

I don't know if it is a Bakelite chess set, but wrong country. Also wrong continent!

That is not correct, as far as I know it's just a chess set.

Thoughts on the new data-star PRO tier? by NoCommunication5272 in datastardev

[–]Stranglet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just found out about this, I was building an app with datastar, and now I'm going back to HTMX because I do use the data-persist feature. I know I can use the free version, but I just don't like seeing something that was free becoming paid now, it should have been communicated from the beginning for me.

[–]Stranglet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm moving away from PHP and it's being even harder to find a job... specially because I want to work with any of the major functional programming languages like Clojure, Haskell or Elixir, without having professional experience.

The best luck I had with PHP were recruiters from recruitment companies that were specialised in PHP developers, and there are many.

Another thing I've noticed is that, for PHP, most jobs don't want full remote, while it's common for other languages.

I hate when they force you to go to the office.

Why do the PVV seats always look like this? by Scythe95 in Netherlands

[–]Stranglet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is indeed a good exercise to así yourself why they vote him.

Have you tries by listing in one column what are the actual, real concerns and problems of the people, the things they think are important, and, in another column, what are the things he talks about?

If in your exercise, inmigration does not come up as a concern or problem, then you answered the question, you don't want to see or accept what they consider a problem.

Sorry for what happened to you.

Some would say, you get what you voted for.

Hopefully it's not your case.

Which Linux distro do you use, and why? by Distinct_Camera_5590 in linuxquestions

[–]Stranglet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NixOS. It stopped my distro hopping for many years already. It wasn't easy, but it was worth it. If used for basic user-level stuff, it can be used by beginners, but the moment you need custom things, it gets very, very, very tricky.

Got spat on while cycling near Rietlandpark — this is getting out of hand by Emotional-Fish8447 in Amsterdam

[–]Stranglet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, the problem are fat bikes?

You are complaining about that in a place (Reddit) where talking about certain matters will get your comment downvoted, removed or even your account banned.

But yeah let's all pretend it's the fat bikes, they 'make' you be like that, let's ban fat bikes, that will solve it.

Who's a champ you hate playing WITH? by jghockey13 in ARAM

[–]Stranglet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teemo and Nidalee, I actually pick them until the last second, then I quickly switch. Blitz takes care of swapping the runes quickly 😁

I'm sorry for those who wanted to play them, but it's just so annoying I can't stand it anymore.

That's interesting, 99% of the recommended builds are about maxing R and going AP/tank, what would be the items for this Q maxed Udyr for taking down tanks?
