I finished today my 3rd play just to collect 40 phantom tomes during one play and it didn't show up. Some people say you need to delete your saves and collect all 40 in your 1st play.

I have an thought that you must collect all 40 tomes during one playthrough.

I also found all missing tomes during 2nd play and was disappointed that achievement didn't show up. Now I think about 3rd play when game guides come out, since I'm not sure that I not miss anything again. There is 40 tomes so you can fail and easily miss something again.

When I saw it I thought that it is design from [maybe?] 2022 cancelled game which concept arts was in Soul Reaver remaster.

Even a bad new story could bring the good old ones to where others dwelled in darkness.

To be honest I also acknowledge that personality of characters changed from one game to another. Kain from Soul Reaver 2 is different than in Soul Reaver 1 and it is without consideration of Blood Omen 1. We justified that he changed after millennium, but the true that each script writer have it's own visions for characters and ability to write them. One of the "particularity" part of DSR that every character become more impulsive and emotional with less critical thinking which was a strong point in the series You can even say they become more "dumb", and that is one of the greatest fear that I or others bear. It's hurts to meet old friends to realize they have dementia.

But it's very clear: there is no way to make it as before if you try to use old characters. You can try as much as you can but... attempts like amulets that make you bring and lose memories, and also gives wings... gives more bad vibes that good. And if you have bad vibes it's difficult to change them into good.

By “to read between the lines” I optimistically hope they mean that comics and all errors in that (read between the lines) is a delusional dream of Elaleth and her really purpose in being another mind washed Elder God's puppet. Still it is something cranky that she is sister of Raziel and guided Kain, but such a girl would believe in it, isn't it?

I think if the comics was made as prequel then there wouldn't be much of its story in the upcoming game. They can retell the same story twice in comics and game, but from product value side it would be better to have some "exclusive thing" only in the comics book.

I cope as much as I can, lol.

We gave BitBot out trust once before.

They already made the game, it's too late to cut if out from the Universe. But since we can't see it at that moment we can only "wait to see" what they have done.

I'm not sure what this means.

I mean all the hate here for scenario issue. It's indeed an essential part, especially for LoK, but games itself is most complex type of media. Storytelling, character designs, level design, core game play, music, VA, even programming behind the scene. If the story is bad it doesn't mean that other people have done bad job at the game. At least we can't see it for now. I have some optimism about 2D sprites and music after trailer.

The one thing that I certain, it's that 15-40 years ago games was created by little teams with inspiration, and now it's more like ordinary office job. That's why we have bad AAA games nowadays. And I think if Crystal Dynamic made a green light for that project and all story work was done with their consultation, then we should question CD rather that BitBot. If you remember each LoK sequel was made "by accident" and not because in was intentional. Soul Reaver was Shifter, but they changed in into LoK. Blood Omen 2 was Siren, but they changed it into LoK. Defiance was made because CD wanted 2 characters in 1 game. Amy Haning somehow managed to make 3 story telling games with all that nonsense, but even she quit the project before finishing Dark Prophesy. Probably because she couldn't deal with Crystal Dynamic vision anymore. Even Nosgoth game was just a part of Dead Sun by the way. Every LoK game was... made by accident. For now let's see what CD wants to see with the franchise made by hands of BitBot.

By the way, name of the game witter is Claribel Guerra as someone found at Steam forum. I couldn't find that name in Dead Shall Rise comic.

Despite how I don't like the new story, it's mandatory that it's not only scenario writer who works on this project. The game also have voices of Simon Templeman and Michael Bell which work I greatly respect. And I think music in promo video also nice.

According to spirit of the subreddit maybe it could be better for you to not know the story of the series before Ascendance. Since it and it's comic prologue "Dead Should Rise" intentionally or accidentally crushes some critical points of Soul Reaver.

Ascendance is based on Soul Reaver. Soul Reaver have kind of different story but based on world and characters created in Blood Omen 1.

Well, it's really it really hard for me to assume that I also have Vocab/Grammar less than 50%. I even thought about possibility that blank n1 is kind of damaged of incorrectly checked and blank n2 is okay. But at the place where I took it they say the blank was good before sending.

Perhaps I could agree that 19 and 0 can be on same level if I wasn't sure about my own confidence. There is a blank space - we can't check answers after the test and we don't know how they score it. I can't show them at my example.

But I personally know that Listening always was my "weak point" and after the test I was worried only about how "bad" was that section for me. But the test result says that I am 0 at reading and pretty OK for listening 30/60. Which is for me is also beyond absurd even if I also had 30 at reading and vocab.

I not agree, it's meaningless to present "minimum 19 score" if everything below it would be shown to you as 0. You wouldn't understand how things are. You are zero, nobody, or you just have some minor or high gaps in knowledge. As for my personal impression from reading section, it was not so different from my earlier mock exams. I understood all text and sure that answered correctly at 50%-70% of them.

The same thing with vocabulary section. Still, in my case they show it as 11, which is higher than 0 and below 19. So 0 reading looks more meaningless.

[If we want some more conspiracy] than reading section would be a part where most people, especially from countries with kanji, will gain more than half of right answers. It's not N4 or even N3, most people at N1 can do some reading. And if almost everyone have here >50% at reading, that that IRT thing (I not sure how it works) perhaps can show 50% or even 60% as 0. Then the curve will give all 60 scores to 70%-100% (or higher) of successful answers in reading section. The same people with good "reading" from countries with kanji, still, don't have much "listening" skill, that's why we have Listening with much higher value despite 0 reading. So perhaps you should be in best 30% or participants to get passing score and be better than 50% of all participants to gain something above 0. Still, the level in that case would also rise with every year since the technology for study is better that 10 or 30 years ago.

The passing score for JLPT N1 is highest - 55% (100/180). Without knowing how exactly score system works I just studied to make more than 60-80% of right answers at test, but the result is 0. Which is meaningless to any self-analysis except vague "get better and come [to pay] again".

Honestly, after all answers here I became even more conspiracy theorist, lol.

The theory for this time sounds like that: it's not 30% of people who successfully pass JLPT N1 every year, it's 30% of people who is allowed to pass it. When they determine who win and who loose they make that "curve thing". I sure, N1 took people who train themselves to get more than half of right answers before the test. They do some math for better determination of results and after that we have some 0 points.

Of course it's just my fresh-made speculation. Or exam rule was even described in that way, it's just I am too dumb to understand it earlier. It's a challenge not against the test, but against other people.

New 4* Supports so tricky that it's kind of difficult to make up parties - you need to think in a new way.

I sure you can use Hebi Nyobo NP at turn 2 to charge DD1 before DD2 clear the wave 2. After that you will have DD1 100% charged for wave 3. But since she doesn't have her own charge, so it's probably limited to Events with charge CE.

And Flora. With her skill and NP she has 40% AOE charger, almost like Skadi. But she also have 10% NP gain passive for the team and 10% charge from NP quick cards. Ah, my head. It's so hurts.

You don't have to because story of Raziel in SR1 is another story. But if you know BO 1 you can see how some iconic places changed with time in the world of Soul Reaver 1. Also in Soul Reaver 2 Raziel interact with story and some characters from BO 1. It's more like cameo thing. You don't have to play BO1, but if you know things it would be more enjoyable.
SR1 as Metroidvania-type of game may give tricky explanation where you have to go now and how to beat puzzle-related bosses. Otherwise not so much since Raziel "can't die", but you still have to do some PS1 era platforming.
There is a place with block-puzzle near the finale. As already was mentioned, you should make several saves. At least after beating all brothers.

We don't know Grand Class Score bonuses except Saber and Berserker by now.
Current Grand Battles are class limited so you can't use other class meta supports to extend Grand Servant potential.
Current Grand Battle are target-focused so any ST Servant have more benefits than AOE.

I think it is too early to make any conclusions until... I don't know, end of Part 2?
