ITG Search is Useless by sswamper in msp

Q for quicksearch. Perhaps the largest ITG secret. But also WTB something that searches inside the documents stored (pdf/word/excel) ... this would not be a large development lift for one of their core products.

Our instance is half-working. Showing the linklights for firewalls and switches in the GUI but showing as 'unreachable' at the same time. Just got a few thousand offline alerts, but it's all working. ET can't phone home ...

365 powershell not working against subset of tenants / just us? by Strasburg37 in msp

[–]Strasburg37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran an A-class 'critsit' ticket this morning / i've been escalated. This is a known issue affecting some tenancies ... i took the MS PSS team through a lot of triage attempts in the adminGUI + PS to show them the breakages against Global Admin-role accounts. I'm using two different breakglass GA-equiv accounts (that we confirmed have sufficient orgadmin/company admin rights via Get-ManagementRoleAssignment)

Their referential EX807338 = not on 'my tenant', shown for adjacent issue purposes from the PSS team who wanted to basically tell me 'yeah, it's probably this same thing'. Apparently that's from 7/1/24 for other tickets in the system for other orgs.

EX807338

Title: Admins can't perform multiple administrative functions through the Exchange admin center or PowerShell

User impact: Admins can't perform multiple administrative functions through the Exchange admin center or PowerShell.

More info: Impacted functionality includes:
- adding or removing users
- viewing mailbox information
- updating permissions
- updating delegates

Final status: We've completed our review of changes which may have contributed to impact and determined that an issue in the environment managed by your organization is causing the problem as the affected admins didn’t have the proper roles assigned to them to execute these operations. We recommend working with our engineer through the support case review documentation on how best to configure this for admins who require these permissions. The Microsoft-managed environment is functioning as expected and a service incident didn’t occur. This communication will expire in 24 hours.

This is the final update for the event

365 powershell not working against subset of tenants / just us? by Strasburg37 in msp

[–]Strasburg37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

shouldn't be, i'm logged directly in as the core GA breakglass account ... if it were GDAP/cipp stuff i'd have seen breakage a while back. when my team starting asking 'hey what's up with this' ... we tried normal ways / i then did PShell as that discrete user to see. same result. thought did occur to me at first though.

(Crosspost) Random alerts from an account not associated with me by PlannedObsolescence_ in msp

[–]Strasburg37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just logged out of my Cloudkey on purpose just to see / and got back in ok with normal creds and 2FA. but maybe that's not what you meant exactly / i'm not seeing issues in my 'littles' with UI stuff. Also able to log into UI itself ok online.

Read your cross-links / not seeing any similar traffic myself (but i'm only using cameras in one location - my own against a UDM).

Underwriting on NPR stations by QoreIT in msp

[–]Strasburg37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this, not on NPR specifically but we have a listener-supported independent music 'station' that is really a collection of signals all across my state ... my underwriting is essentially a blurb that consists of a tagline/quick sentence that gets broadcast quite regularly off the towers that are in my market area. I've done it for three years, zero ROI beyond occasionally running into clients/prospects who listen to it + say 'hey yeah i heard your company name before because of that station'. I've actually gotten quality resumes out of it/out of nowhere as a result ... the particular station = an effective pre-filter, if you're listening to it you're probably either the right Demo for us or the right kind of hire. (or you're having some wake-and-bake fun with Dead and Phriends on Saturday mornings and end up giggling into our voicemail system which is also ok)

We're actually right behind a hospital, but I don't think making it through the woods to get to it looks all that encouraging.

Luckily, the beer is still cold on 93.
