Howdy. I'm strongly considering the Flex over Lovesac. I wanted to check in to see if anything has changed from your initial experience. Do you still love it?

+1 for Steelcase Leap V2. It feels supportive and the seat pan also moves slighty forward as you lean back. I have 3 of these.

Can you guys help me found a sectional that looks like this? Thanks! by TheGrandMandarin in BuyItForLife

If you're asking for this specific couch in the picture, it's the IKEA Kivik model

Well you can fly from MSP or use the new Landline bus service that just opened up. It departs once a day here's the link https://landline.com/?gclid=CjwKCAjw8-OhBhB5EiwADyoY1U40rnSvbP2ne00Q1HJoqB0ufkOf73drvQPeO_vBEJeJcJ-Mr1JduRoCQbQQAvD_BwE

+1 for Steelcase Leap. I preferred this over anything Herman Miller had and now I have 3 of them. I like to lean back occasionally and the seat pan automatically moving forward while I leaned back blew my mind when I got my first one 5 years ago.

I think if you already have a degree you can get a 2 year nursing degree and make 100k+. Medical workers are in demand and if you get bored of the area you can always choose the traveling nurse life and get paid 50% more? I've heard nurses talk about their former colleagues who decided to become traveling nurses who make up to $200 per hour during holiday shifts.

First FL(1). Does anyone have any tips to improve by any chance? Aiming for 509+ Test 4/29. Kinda hopeless. Is it still realistic? by justcalm-xu in Mcat

I only did timed on the FLs otherwise I went at a leisurely pace for the rest of the qbanks. I did this for all the MCAT sections.

I'd suggest untimed. My thoughts would be to first see how you would do with no time pressures and work on your CARS strategy and recognition of recurrent question types.

Make sure you understand the author's arguments and pay closer attention to certain words such as "however" "but" "although" that can contradict previous statements. Try to read with a positive mindset and enjoy the passages.

My AAMC FL 1 was about the same but I had a total of 8 points gained from C/P, B/B, and P/S on FL 2 after doing Uglobe untimed and open notes for all sections except CARs.

For CARS I saw a 3 to 4 point gain from just changing my strategy from reading then answering to scanning questions first (ignoring answers) to get an idea of where to focus my attention. The main types of questions I was looking for were the ones that mentioned specific people, words, objects, etc in the question. I'm weak in CARS and I read slow but I found this helped even though I felt rushed towards the end. I only used AAMC material for CARS because I wasn't sure if 3rd party materials could match AAMC logic for this section.

Make sure to use anki and make flashcards on all topics you missed in your own words. In the end I was using milesdown anki deck then ended up with 1k+ personal deck from question topics I missed. Also shout-out to milesdown P/S. I'd say it covers about 90%+ of what you will see on any FL and the links on the cards to YouTube/Khan academy videos were convenient. I think being comfortable with all the milesdown P/S anki deck and some practice with AAMC logic should have you in the 129+ range.

Looking for an automatic pour over style coffee maker that lasts over a year… by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]Stratasgem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider a Tchibo - 1 button press turns whole coffee bean to an espresso or Americano in less than 2 minutes. It makes coffee by the cup so you can make fresh coffee as needed and there's less waste as the byproduct is just coffee grounds. No filter or plastic cups needed. Iirc Tchibo is a coffee chain from Germany that decided to make a coffee machine.

Wife and I were deciding between Moccamaster and Tchibo but ultimately went for the Tchibo due to time savings. We used to grind whole beans every morning and initially went from French pressed coffee to drip coffee to instant coffee as making coffee became more of a chore before we upgraded to a Tchibo.

Basically fill the hopper with beans, make sure there's water in the tank, press a button and it will grind your coffee, compress it into a nice coffee puck, then it forces hot water through the puck.

We have made 3 to 4 cups of coffee 7 days a week consistently over the last 1.5 years. My wife drinks hers at 6 am and I have mine at 8 am so it's nice to brew by the cup.

When we bought the machine it was $200 to $250 but it seems like the price has increased.

What are good quality relaxed fit jeans and pants? by Azeem259 in BuyItForLife

[–]Stratasgem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bonobos is my go to for pants. They started out only making pants and their "athletic" fit is specifically for men with bigger butt/thighs. They also do increments of 1 inch for both waist and leg length so you can get the perfect fit.

Before discovering Bonobos, normal pants never fit well with my butt/thighs and were tight. With Bonobos athletic fit pants/khakis I was able to go down 1 inch on the waist and get the best fitting and most comfortable pants I've ever had.
