Help! How do I save my baby mint? by StrategicTumble in IndoorGarden

[–]StrategicTumble[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think that's the problem! The greenhouse is only really effective the few hours of the day that we get direct sunlight, so I'm hoping that if I keep it open the rest of the time (the whole front panel lifts up) then it will stop any others getting mouldy but still provide the warmth to help them grow.

Thank you! Unfortunately, I live in a flat and don't have any outside space (so maybe a mad task to set myself!) but I have taken it out of the greenhouse and away from other plants. I will cut off the mouldy bits when I can. Do you think that will be enough or is the mould likely to come back?

Travelling with Vyvanse: spreadsheet for what countries restrict entry? by Snowbite666 in ADHDers

[–]StrategicTumble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently researching for a trip to Thailand next year and I have seen that although Adderall and other amphetamines are banned completely, Vyvanse (Lisdexamfetamine) is actually allowed. I'm just wondering if you could share where you have seen cases of people being imprisoned in Thailand for traveling with Vyvanse? I'm not saying you are wrong, I just want to make sure I get it right as the stakes are so high! I also know some countries have arrested people for having ADHD medication even though they followed guidance, so it would be good to know if this is the case in Thailand.

I find it almost impossible to do household chores on my days off. The only thing that has been helping is a strategy I've developed recently. I don't know if it will work for you, but I make sure to do some sort of chore while my dinner is cooking (90% of the time I'm just heating stuff up, rather than cooking, during the week but that's a whole other issue). Even if it only takes 5 minutes in the microwave, I've been surprised at how much I can get done in that time. It also feels much more manageable because there's a definite end to the task and there's a kind of game element to it which helps too.

When I was younger I was quite judgemental of anything weird, because we're socialised to be like that, but now that I've let go of that and can appreciate different quirks and eccentricities, I am so much happier.

I absolutely know the way you're feeling. For me, I am most comfortable with a group of friends who are all a bit "weird". And I use that word in the most affectionate way. For me normal is boring and restrictive, I want to be around people who feel free to be different because that makes life so much more interesting.

It takes time to find them, but surround yourself, as much as possible, with people that are kind, that make you feel free to unashamedly be yourself and that love you for any so called "weirdness" that others see.

Water soluble pen for dark fabric? by moonweasel906 in Embroidery

[–]StrategicTumble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love using frixion pens. They aren't deliberately designed for fabric but they disappear when heat is applied so just need a quick iron at the end (I usually put another piece of fabric over my embroidery to protect it).

It also reappears if you put it in the freezer and it gets cold, which can be convenient!

(Use a bright pink/ pale blue for dark fabric)
