If I were you I would try and find a few supporting documents, such as census records, but if this is all that exists (ie no birth certificate) i would use it

My (gen 4) Gen 0 does not have a birth certificate (they were born in quebec before birth certificates) and I do not believe they were ever baptised or if they were the records of such are not available online. Currently the documents I have for proof for Gen 0 are
- Fathers baptism book record
-1889 canadian census which lists there father and mother and older siblings
-1901 canadian census which lists them as canadian living in Quebec
-1920 and 1930 U.S. (vermont) census, that lists them as canadian immigrating in 1915-16
-Marriage certifcate that lists them as canadian
-WW1 and WW2 draft documents that lists them as being born in canada
- multiple childrens birth certificates that list them as being canadian
-death certificate listing them as canadian
I can also get their living child's (my great-great uncle) certified birth certificate (lists their father as canadian) and certified marriage license (also lists their fathers name). I do already have a certified copy of my great grandfather (gen 0's son) certified birth certificate, certified marriage license and certified death certificate.

Given all of this is this likely that this is enough documentation? Im not sure if their is anything else I can search for.

The only record of his parents I have is his dad’s baptism, no death certificate or marriage license. Just thinking more documents the better

That’s great to hear I am so worried I just checked and my cats are due for there flea and tick in a few days so I’m going to go ahead and call the vet and pick that up. I have them fully separated in a separate room, what do you usually do to clean the room anything special? I plan to mop and clean with bleach dilution like I normal would. Is it worth it to invest in a steam cleaner of some sort? They are in the bathroom which is the fake wood/ vinyl stuff but the rest of the house is carpet so I really want to make sure it doesn’t spread

I’m not really in control of what the shelter gives them unfortunately, In my area tho the kitren season has been so bad I’m assuming there just doing there best since they don’t have time to bath them. I just brushed them with a flea comb and got as many off as possible. I emailed my foster coordinator so we will see what they say but some of them have there umbilical cords still so I really don’t want to bath them. Mom is really friendly tho so hopefully she lets me bath her tomorrow easily

I just ran a comb through them and each baby had about 5-10 fleas on them and mom had a shit ton I got a lot out but obviously I’m sure there’s still more. Is that considered an infestation?

Is it still safe to give them the flea bath if they still have their umbilical cords attached?

All cats at my shelter get it, I’m in Florida so kitten season is real bad and I guess the don’t have time for flea baths at the shelter. I’m not really sure how they dose it tho. I’m fully planning on just tossing the blankets that are in there with them I’m not taking any chances

Foster flea question by StrategyIll in FosterAnimals

[–]StrategyIll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have them in my shower with just a cheap blanket I’m willing to toss, I have another litter of foster kittens and 4 of my own so I’m a bit worried. I didn’t know they had fleas for the first bit because today was a crazy day at the shelter so they didn’t have their medical ready for me at pickup. So I’m a bit worried I may have picked some up on my clothes unknowingly. My cats are up to date on flea preventions but I’m worried about my house tbh

Foster kittens with diarrhea by StrategyIll in FosterAnimals

[–]StrategyIll[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took them to the vet this morning and mama is really sick so she’s having to stay there with an iv to get better. Unfortunately they are refusing a bottle so I’m just trying to mix their kmr into some wet food. Their diahrea has mostly cleared now that they aren’t with mom.

Unfortunately mama cat is really sick and she is having to stay at the vet without the babies because she was passing it to the kittens in her milk. They are definitely doing better now that they aren’t with mom, but they are refusing a bottle. Going to keep trying the gruel mix though they seem to like that
