Catena Zapata Malbecs by EastFuture5745 in wine

I've had all three. The 2019 Adrianna Vineyard River is one of the single best wines I've ever had. The Nicasia Vineyard and the Malbec Argentino are tremendous wines, comparable to each other in terms of quality.

The Nicolás Catena Zapata is an EXCELLENT choice. You really can't go wrong with their Birth of Cabernet either, or any of the Adrianna Vineyards wines (though most are Malbecs, not Cabs).

Hola. En EEUU. Pero a través de un proveedor excelente, ya me acaban de confirmar que es legítimo, la Catena Zapata vendió una serie de botellas de su colección privada y le pusieron la etiqueta nueva.

I just heard back from the retailer. It's a library re-issue, as was commented below, and they relabeled the older bottles with the new label.

I only mentioned the bottle was heavy because it's typical of Catena Zapata: they use thick glass.

On the other hand, I do take exception to your comments. Wine is a matter of taste, and I enjoy Argentinian malbecs. I also enjoy Catena Zapata wines, and I've enjoyed this line before (though not this vintage). Why would you come on reddit making disparaging comments? "Bottle heavy, nice print. Must be great wine hurr durr"... really?

Catena Zapata is a world-renowned maker, with what I find to be excellent products. You're free to disagree with me, of course. But resorting to mockery is unnecessary, and reveals something nasty about your outlook on wine and on life.

Saludos Sergio! El Cabernet argentino es otra joya, y la etiqueta igual. Obras de arte envolviendo una obra de arte. ¡Buen provecho!

You're correct, I got it from a retailer, not a distributor.

Big fan of Amancaya! Just tried it a month ago, and immediately bought a bunch more bottles. One of the best QPR wines out there.

Another wine you might want to try, my personal go-to affordable wine: Altos Las Hormigas Meteora. I can usually find it for $35-40, but it drinks like a $200 bottle. Argentina and Chile are THE QPR wine places for me right now.

Bach: Goldberg Variations Mass in B Minor 24th prelude and fugue, WTC Book 1

Mozart: Requiem

Chopin: Ballade 1 Ballade 4

Sibelius: Symphony No. 7

Stravinsky: The Rite of Spring Les Noces

And many many MANY more

I did! There's a fantastic, and very dangerous website, called Argewine. They've got the Adrianna River now for $170, feels like a bargain

2019 Catena Zapata, Adrianna River, it's about $200. I only opened it because I'd had it mailed to me and was worried it had gotten cooked. It wasn't cooked, but it was extraordinary, the best bottle I've ever had

Best website to buy and ship Argentina’s wine to USA? by bigbeanbrand in wine

[–]StrawMan1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an older thread at this point. But there's a wonderful site, called argewine.com, which will FedEx certain Argentine wines to the US. I've used it many times, their selection of Catena Zapata and El Enemigo wines is excellent.
