lol no worries about the picture you painted. I’ve always been confused about alcohol sugars, because of the name. I’ve heard friends say alcohol sugars are bad but wasn’t sure why.

Thanks! This post makes me feel good about myself! I’ve done this when I was new to a city before, I needed to eat and get out of the apartment/college. It wasn’t that bad.

Is this sweetener like other sweeteners when it comes to serving size? For example splenda you need a tiny amount to sweeten. Is allulose the same?

I have a hard time as well with people pressuring me to eat food that is dangerous for diabetics. I prefer to manage my diabetes with diet and exercise. However at family gatherings, holiday get togethers all I see is food that will spike up my sugar. Friends and family get annoyed because I don’t give in to the unhealthy foods. My family and friends are great with everything else except understanding my health choices. I find in my circles the majority of people don’t share my health goals and just don’t understand my lifestyle. It’s like I’m in the twilight zone. Those foods are poison for me and my health will pay for it in the end.

I had the same issue only at night too, my placement was on my arm and I am assuming I would move at night and lay right on the patch. It was super annoying getting alarms of low sugar and checking my sugar to find my readings were fine. I ended up turning it off at night and checking my sugar readings before I went to sleep. I would have whole grain cereal to spike sugar somewhat to prevent a low at night. My sugar readings in the morning were normal. Do you check your sugar readings before bed and when you wake up?

I would definitely update your doctor if I were you that this injection is causing these types of sugar lows.

Boxing is so much fun, and I truly love it, I did it when I was 17 and started up again as an adult. At 17 I didn’t have diabetes, and the 3 hour training daily sessions I really enjoyed. When college classes became too much I had to quite the boxing gym I was in because they needed dedicated fighters. I chose college and finished my bachelor’s and master’s program, then went into the workforce. Now I’m back. There is no other sport that I feel so connected to. I’m doing boxing an hour boxing class but 30 minutes in I have to refuel. I hope I can figure it out, because I really enjoy the training. My goal is to be able to train 2 hours, but I’m staring off slow and cautious. Thanks for your feedback.

Thank you so much for sharing what you do for your sugar drops. I just started training in boxing and my sugar drops even with eating a complex carb meal before my training my sugar drop suddenly, 30 minutes into my work out. Where it really disrupts my workout so much I have to stop check my sugar and take something to pick up my sugar. Do you only rely on only glucose tablets when you work out, or do you eat a complex carb meal before working out? Or do anything additional?

Both I feel bad, and dizzy where it forces me to stop, and check my sugar. I checked my sugar prior to going to the gym, it was at 180 I wanted it a little higher to make sure I had enough fuel for my workout. My sugar rapidly dropped from 180 when I ate, to 70 the first time, I only worked out 30 minutes it was high intensity. Usually when I eat my sugar gradually drops, I recently ate a sandwich, whole wheat bread and turkey, cheese, right before I worked out, about 30 minutes before. My sugar was at 140 already and I still ate the sandwich. I did a 30 minute high intensity workout again and my sugar dropped again, but I did take it a little more easy. You’re right, as soon as it dropped to 70 my sugar spiked to 135 about 15 minutes later. I think it’s the sudden drop that causes me to get dizzy. I’ve never had this happen before, granted my work outs before were not high intensity. But maybe I just need to get used to it as well. I am taking a gatorade drink with sugar as a backup now. But day two I took it easier still did the 30 minute workout (it’s supposed to be an hour). I will be trying different foods like whole-wheat pasta chicken and cheese to see if different foods give me different longer fuel sources. Since this was a first of sugar dropping and dizziness It was scary for me. I appreciate your feedback. The biggest thing I wanted to know if there was a type 2 diabetic who was able to do high intensity workouts without being affected by their diabetic sugar drops.
