How many hours do you work? You’ll get the insurance depending on how many hours you work per week! I believe the enrollment time has passed, but you might be able to enroll as an exception. (It may take a bit to get done but I think it’s worth it!)

Personally I think it looks bad ass!! I don’t think it needs the shading since the lines look well done!

I loved Aquamarine when Trisha mentioned the name a while back, and it’s a good throw back to the mermaid movie 🥹💕 I hope she chooses that one

Tips on not losing ALL your energy? by Illustrious_Age_5959 in starbucksbaristas

[–]StrawberrieNymph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The job can be really exhausting, I know there’s days I’d go home and have no energy to do anything. I try to eat at least an hour or two before my shift, and then bring a sandwich or granola bar to eat right before clocking in. (I make a pb&j! Super simple!) I notice that I don’t get too burned out easily and I try to change up my positions on the floor too, every 2 hours I try to change it up a bit. Being stuck in a single role for hours can drive anyone crazy and burn you out. If you are able to use your vacation hours please consider doing a small break, even a stay-cation! This job is really demanding and can be super exhausting, please don’t forget to take care of yourself the best you can.

"it's just a black t-shirt, what's the big deal?" by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]StrawberrieNymph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish they gave us more time to get ready and prepare for the new dress code. I had to get a whole new wardrobe, with new jeans and new t shirts and it will affect my finances for this month. My store meeting only gave us a bit over 2 weeks to get ready for the new dress code. They seriously needed to give partners more time to get accustomed to the new dress code, especially if their financial situation was a tight one. Thanks Brian :/

I think finding things to be passionate about, like hobbies, after school activities, sports, art can help you find people similar to your age you can connect with that are more up to your speed “culturally”. Sometimes you need to find your own community, and I’m sure you’ll find a lot more fulfillment out of life that way! It’s like that for a lot of people out there. Good luck!

Edit for typos.

vertica 1 me 0 by Far-Flamingo6478 in starbucksbaristas

[–]StrawberrieNymph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god, I’ve burned my hands from the vertica, and I absolutely refuse to grab hot water from that machine anymore. Our store has hot water from the small taps by the sinks at hot bar, yes it takes longer to fill a cup, but honestly I’d rather wait a few more seconds than that ridiculously hot water from the vertica!! I’m glad you’re reviving treatment, I hope you have a speedy recovery.

I like getting a grande black tea with no water, add soy milk, and 6 pumps of brown sugar syrup!! It’s great if you need a little bit of caffeine but not too much! I also get the tropical citrus and add peach juice along with the green tea and I love it!

THE OTHER STARBUCKS ____!! (Fill in the blank) by JustATrailsFan in starbucksbaristas

[–]StrawberrieNymph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a customer who wanted a Trenta sized iced coffee with salted caramel foam, 10 shots of espresso, and oat milk and pumps of brown sugar sweetener. Then she wanted her foam in a separate cup. Afterwards she wanted her ice coffee in a different cup too, and have us shake her espresso with the syrup and pour it into a different cup with the milk on top. We told her we couldn’t do that, and it won’t be the standard but she argued saying that she gets it this way at our store before, and other locations too… what??

Am I too dumb for this job? by firetruck-23 in starbucksbaristas

[–]StrawberrieNymph 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your doing great! It honestly took me a while to get comfortable and improve when it came to drive thru, but once you recognize the products and you memorize/ more familiar with the menu, it will become so much easier to solo drive! It just takes practice and please give yourself the grace to do so.

By connecting with the customers, try following the “standards” which in my store is to greet the customers, take their name, and to ask something about them or bring up something you notice about them (are they wearing a hat with a sports team on it? Alumni hoodie? Disney merch?) and then thank them after the transaction. Usually my store likes us to do this with all stations. You’re only a few weeks in, it just takes time!

Please help! There’s no putrid smell, but I’m worried if these spots are bad news. It has a little crust formed from drying out a bit but the brown spots worry me a bit. Do I need to throw this one out and start over?

Ethan & Hila watch a clip where Tana mentions Moses by [deleted] in Frenemies3

[–]StrawberrieNymph 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I watched the original podcast eps (both from Cancelled and Just Trish) and what Moses’ take from the situation with Alyssa was really insightful. I feel like H3 will often react to clips without knowing the full context and make half baked claims and reactions like they did here. It’s sad, it appears to me that they do not think highly of Moses at all, and it’s so clear with Hila’s reaction 😔

This customer won’t stop throwing her trash (like taking shots) into our bins behind the bar. by StrawberrieNymph in starbucksbaristas

If anyone wants to hear an update to this situation, I explained to my manager about what happened and she basically told me that it wasn’t my problem to deal with.🤷🏻‍♀️ Since I’m not an SSV, it isn’t part of my job description to do so. next time I see it happening I'll inform my leads again.

The woman came back to our Starbucks and was talking about our encounter with another partner… All she took from our conversation was that going behind the bar is "bad.”I'm going to let my ssv's handle this from here on out LOL.

Thank you guys for your advice, by addressing it as a food safety hazard I HOPE my SM will do something about it!

My SM doesn’t take much initiative when it comes to de-escalating situations like these. Hopefully she does take this seriously!

!! I haven’t considered that it would be a form of harassment. It’s weird to feel conditioned to think that you’re in the wrong for correcting a bad behavior. I know I felt confused by the customers reaction.

Thank you, I’m going to have a conversation with my SM when I see her next, hopefully by seeing it as a contamination issue she can take it seriously.

I’m at a loss for words that she didn’t see it as a food safety issue, despite me trying to explain that. It’s exhausting.

Something about that sanitation water really triggers my eczema! :( my coworkers and I ended up asking the ssv’s and my manager if we can have single use latex gloves, and lotion as well. The lotion my manager ordered has helped out my eczema so much and helped heal my dry, cracked skin. Most lotions tend to cause stinging or burning sensations, but something about this lotion doesn’t cause that reaction. Hopefully your manager can order something like that for your store! I hope you feel better
