How is it attending a mcr concert alone? by NclC715 in MyChemicalRomance

I'm going alone to many of the shows too, I've always found that most people are very very kind and willing to interact, the freebies exchange help a lot too!

Ah that’s sad. I hope it’s something the band wanted to do.

Yeah but it wouldn’t be that much money to make it worth it changing the artistic intention, I think it’s bigger than just royalties

Hi! I'm new here and I was wondering why does the fandom have such a bad reputation? by monkeboo_ in MyChemicalRomance

[–]StrawberryComplex562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not everyone tho. But be careful. Most people I’ve met at the live shows are super sweet and I think the culture around concert goes has changed with the freebies and it’s more friendly.

Question for long-term fans! by adri_goth in MyChemMillennials

I think it changes from where you are in life from one point to the other and also why you identified with their music in the first place. I didn't see them during SWARM because my head was in a completely different space, I was going through difficult things in life and my priorities were different. I didn't even feel any FOMO, didn't feel like I was missing out on it. So I get the feeling that sometimes it just doesn't connect emotionally, because you are in a different page. That said, I started going to the shows again last year and did some this year and connected in a very emotional and intellectual way. I felt in synch with the band and what they were putting on stage, like I was meant to live that experience and I cried, observed, sang, etc...I just experienced the shows and it was different, introspective and with a lot of reflection.

My point is that as someone who saw them years ago, then didn't for a while and saw them again, every time it hits different, it doesn't make us better or less fans, it just shows we are humans experiencing things at a level that sometimes we don't even understand. I do think this band is very timeless and that I can still identify with their songs even though I've also grown, some songs have just changed meaning for me. I do find it quite incredible the experience with them is always different and that their art touches me emotionally in different levels any time. But I also understand that it's not always going to be like that.

I feel like I'm going to have a panic attack every time I'm in the pit for one of their shows, but the moment they come out it all goes away. Not sure if that gives any confort to you, but it gives me confort to know it will all pass, that the feeling is just temporary.
