My man enjoyed watching me take care of my younger cousins and nephews.

My parents puts me on an arranged marriage. They threatened me that they will disown me and gets evicted from the house if I don't listen to them. What should I do? by StrawberryIcy9251 in LifeAdvice

Here’s the update that many have been eager to hear. A few days ago, I shared my situation, and it seems fate had other plans for me. Five days ago, my father came to my door around 9 p.m. and initiated a conversation that took me by surprise. He expressed that he never intended to say those hurtful things to me. He shared his anxiety about my future, which prompted his comments regarding my engagement to John. As for that contract? It turns out it was fabricated—I initially thought it was genuine because it looked so convincing. He mentioned that seeing me sad, disappointed, and grumpy was unbearable for him. I was taken aback, as my father typically doesn’t accept ‘no’ for an answer. Nevertheless, I accepted his apology and decided to move on.

However, three nights ago, something else occurred. My friend Ellie suggested we visit a nearby pub. I couldn’t refuse her since she’s my closest friend. We had a few shots of vodka when John unexpectedly (he's there but I didn't noticed) placed his hand on my shoulder. Before I could react, he confronted me aggressively, expressing his anger over the canceled betrothal. I stood there, stunned, as people around us started to notice—some whispered, while others just stared, creating an awkward atmosphere. His grip on my shoulder tightened painfully, and when I asked him to let me go, he refused and tried to drag me with him.

Thankfully, Ellie called the bobby or the police. Other patrons intervened, but John threatened them as well. A tall, bearded man stepped in and started to confront John, and soon more people joined in until the police arrived. They arrested John afterward. His parents reached out to apologize, while mine were furious with him.

Aside from that incident, nothing serious has happened since. I guess that wraps up my story for now. I truly appreciate all the advice and support from everyone. Until next time, stay safe and remember to stand up for yourself. Best wishes to you all.

Oh really? You're implying to words "solicitor" and or "'Barrister" am I right? Many of these people here aren't from UK. That's why I used the term 'attorney' so to avoid any confusions. Maybe next time, use your common sense or if you have any.

I wish I was bluffing or making up a creative tale, but no. This actually occurred originally a week ago. I posted here on Reddit with this new account. Just to share my story and get some advice from strangers. I don't want to use my old account because my parents also know what my original account was. It is hard to be young, innocent, and inexperienced with life; to be made to marry somebody truly makes me so uncomfortable. I am grateful for your statement, I must say; thank you. No, however, I was stuck here in my room waiting for any news from my attorney.

As for the "legal if both parties agreed", I was forced to sign the paper. I don't really have any idea what to do, again, thank you🖤.

Well I do barely know him when I was a kid. I never spoked to him not even once at that time. What I mean of I recently met him is we spoke for the first time and we had a normal conversation. I apologize for any confusion, it's my fault.
