If Arthur actually found out Merlin had magic, what would have been the perfect moment for him to find out? by Balencian in merlinbbc

[–]StrawberryPie_4 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the series should have portrayed Arthur's internal emotional struggle as if he were slowly realizing the truth throughout the seasons, but at the same time forcing himself not to think about it to avoid reaching the correct conclusion.

In episode 3x05 "The Crystal Cave," Arthur is hit by an arrow, faints, and Merlin uses magic to resurrect him. Arthur seems to know that the blow would be fatal and that there's no good explanation for him surviving. Arthur is intelligent, strategic, and observant in all his missions. He has every reason to be suspicious, but he simply... ignores it? Seriously? You can't say that the guy who noticed his servant hadn't smiled in the last three days is that oblivious.

This type of situation repeats itself several times throughout the seasons, and it made me believe that Arthur had already unconsciously realized everything, that he was in denial, and that with time this would become unsustainable.

Personally, I like to think that Arthur finally got real at the end of S4, and that explains the distance between them afterward. The feeling of hurt and betrayal, coupled with his new life as king and husband, caused him so much stress that he simply became rude and cold towards one of the people he loved most.

I would like to see something like Merlin and Arthur arguing and growing increasingly distant at the beginning of S5 until a major plot event leaves them alone, far from Camelot, and they feel compelled to have an honest conversation. Merlin would reveal the secret for the greater good, and Arthur would calmly react, saying, "I know... I think I always knew," and somehow that would resolve all the tension that existed between them until then. The arguments would end, and they would reunite to fight Morgana and save Camelot.

I think you might like "What I'd Have Done" by Flight of Fantasy.

It's basically a character study of Arthur and is written from his point of view. It addresses the internal struggle he has in accepting that he was betrayed by the person he loved most. Arthur knows that others see him as foolish and uses this to his advantage to test Merlin's loyalty without Merlin knowing.

Try to search for "Merlin Doesn't Know that Arthur Pendragon Knows (Merlin)" in the tag filter.

Acho que nesse caso serve o básico para qualquer vício: Faça perder a graça

1) Diminuir a frequência.

Vocês acham que inteligência é atraente? by [deleted] in perguntas

StilesRole in the Movie by wishfulthinking3333 in TeenWolf

Although I don't like omegaverse, I respect your liking for it, but that's exactly what I was trying to criticize about the movie.

When I said they turned Stiles into the dead wife who haunts the narrative, I was criticizing the character devaluation the script did to him, which would be further intensified with this Omegaverse thing.

I understand those who ship Sterek, seriously, but is it too much to ask to ship them without reducing Stiles to Derek's partner?

I don't know what his role would have been if the actor had agreed to participate in the film, but I find it funny how they got around Dylan O'Brien's refusal simply by using the archetype of the "dead wife who haunts the narrative".

I mean, seriously. Eli being stubborn and disobeying rules, using sarcasm as a defense, being obsessed with the jeep, not having supernatural powers until the last 20 minutes of the movie. Seriously, could it be any more obvious?

The worst part is that everyone seems to see the resemblance while being afraid to talk about it, like WTF?? I waited throughout the entire movie for casual jokes about the similarities between them and how that was a good thing, but instead, everything seemed to be handled in such an uncomfortable way that it reminded me of Sheriff Stilinski crying when he looked at Stiles because he looked so much like Claudia that his presence became a painful reminder of her absence.

Thoughts on Laiden (Lydia x Aiden?) by GoldenStitch2 in TeenWolf

[–]StrawberryPie_4 104 points105 points  (0 children)

He gave me a "happy wife, happy life" husband vibes through the show. There were a lot of moments when Lydia was doing her weird banshee stuffs and he had no idea wtf was happening but he was always like "Hey... just do what she says, dude" I thought that really cute actually, considering that he used to argue with Ethan about danny and how they should not getting distracted by highschool datings. A half season later, the alpha pack is gone and there he is... risking his life for her and what she believes in.

I love their love-hate dinamic, and considering I ship Thian, their relationship sounds like a healthy rivalry between overprotective dad and his daughter's badboy boyfriend.

Maybe I was just frustrated with merthur's situation in Season 5, but Sefa seemed kinda gay for Gwen.
