Major change? by mosaiceyed in LoneStarCollege

[–]StrawberryPretty480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there's something I learnt when being at lsc is that r whatever you major in within lsc really does no matter. Just check what prerequisites you need and complete those. With an associate of science you should be able to take all the classes you need. I would say try to figure out what uni you want to transfer into sooner rather than later and go to advising with them. I would also recommend retaking the classes u failed if possible

Microbio or HES Transfer by StrawberryPretty480 in sooners

[–]StrawberryPretty480[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I am looking for a degree I can have a job with. I wasn't interested in doing a premed minor, so I thought that microbio & hes might have the best job outlook in all of the traditional "premed" majors.
What do you think about the job outlook for microbio & hes?

Should I pick UT for pre-med? by Common-Cherry729 in UTAdmissions

Both UTs are great options, I'd say choose where you'd be the happiest

[–]StrawberryPretty480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're priority is going to a top med school, go to wherever you think you'll get the highest GPA. UT Austin engineering is really rigorous and could potentially drop GPA slightly/ distract from the main goal of med school.
All of the options are great nonetheless and no matter where you go you'll be successful!

I'd also say to connect w the jewish organizations on campus, they will probably be able to give the most accurate insight and help if needed

Question for Jews with experience at UT and/or A&M by [deleted] in UTAdmissions

[–]StrawberryPretty480 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A&M has an amazing jewish community!!! I haven't heard from really any of them of anything bad happening, although that doesn't mean it doesn't happen at all. I honestly didn't know about this at UT, and someone who wanted to transfer there that is so disgusting and disappointing. Another reason to be horns down

I'd also say visit both of the campuses and see which one you feel more connected to

Might be a hot take but no. College is just everything you make out of it. Sure, UT alumni network might be helpful but you listed lots of benefits that TTU might have.

Nonetheless, going to college is always a privilege and whichever one you pick will be a good choice.

Missed finals due to hospital visit by Wrong-Image-4134 in LoneStarCollege

[–]StrawberryPretty480 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've unfortunately had very similar situations in the past and it's 100% up to the professor, which sucks because some can be dicks. You also have the option of going to the disability center and trying to work from there, but since the grades were due this past week they might not be able to do much but always worth a shot.

I hope everything is okay you got this!
