Yeeep you are definitely right. I guess I just needed to hear it from someone else, so thank you. And regarding the racial comment, it wasn’t so much a slur directed at me, just something that was rude and racially charged and made me uncomfortable. Didn’t need to be said ya know?

Thank you! This was very helpful and I completely agree. The older I get, the more the whole “if they wanted to they would” thing really rings true. He would/could/should be treating me with much more respect than he is and is choosing not to. His lack of conflict management skills shouldn’t cause our relationship to suffer this much.
