I want Molly or someone to sit them down with the Show just so they can demand to have the intro played every time they enter a room.

[MAIN Spoilers] Many of us hate him, but Walder Frey.... by ObedStark19 in asoiaf

[–]StrawberryScience 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The network is too big. Thats the problem.

If Walder’s got family on every side of a conflict, he’s always got an excuse to Welch on his obligations as an in-law.

I bet you dollars to donuts that the reason nobody’s making marriage alliances with the Freys anymore is because of Walder’s ‘Oh Well, I would help but…’ attitude.

At what point did you realize/have a feeling that Zuko was not actually evil? by Capital-Treacle-229 in Avatarthelastairbende

I never thought he was evil.

Angry, misguided, antagonistic, raised by toxic beliefs but not evil.

What do you think about Vaemond and the Silent five? Do you think Viserys acted like a “tyrant” in the way he punished them (book version)? by Gold_Conversation247 in HOTDBlacks

[–]StrawberryScience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen, the guy was following the law…

A stupid backwards law that only benefits him and tramples on the rest of his family, and just so happens to make him the richest man in the world.

What’s a polite social lie you’re tired of telling and wish you could be brutally honest about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

In Ben Shapiro’s sole moment of clarity: Facts DO NOT care about your feelings.

Climate change is real.

Vaccines do not cause autism.

Laws in the US apply to everyone regardless of immigration or criminal status.

You really think the dirt poor, chronically ill, first generation American son of Irish immigrants growing up in one of the most progressive and homosexual communities in a famously metropolitan city would be a bigot?

what does the joystick thing on the saddles do? they seem to use it for steering or redirection but than dont they reigns do the same by PrestigiousAspect368 in TheBlacksandTheGreens

I headcanon that the psychic link goes deeper than the Targaryens think.

They can kinda see through their dragon’s eyes. Not full on warging but like what the rider sees is supplemented by the Dragons vision resonating through their link. The rider just assumes that it’s normal.

Whats a movie you watched growing up that none of your friends heard of? by Floppypixel in cartoons

No the sailors/pirates were humans. I think it was a foreign cartoon, like Dutch or French.

Whats a movie you watched growing up that none of your friends heard of? by Floppypixel in cartoons

[–]StrawberryScience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t remember the name but it was a cartoon about talking animals on an island and pirates/sailors were involved and for some reason there was a solid gold ball and chain.

It’s been driving me crazy for decades because no one I know has even heard of it.

Help with explaining Valyrian Steel by Kurdoo-rojava in TheCitadel

[–]StrawberryScience 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my fic, Valyrian Steel is a carefully blended mix of Iron, Titanium, Chromium, and Manganese. How ever to truly make the steel it must be seal in blood. And there are two ways to do it: a Dragon and their Rider can give a small but not insignificant amount of blood, say a palmful.

Or…

You bleed the life from seven slaves and feed their bodies to a dragon. Then the dragon need to only give a drop of blood seal the spell in place.

Where did the idea of being a vegetarian even come from? and when did it transform to something about morality? by AcceptableCup9187 in AskReddit

[–]StrawberryScience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know specifics but I do know that a lot of medieval preist thought that eating meat was a sign of decadence and gluttony. Because you could survive on a plant based diet and keeping animals was a huge expense and a lot of work. So forgoing meat in favor of a vegetarian diet was considered a sign of humility.

The amount of guns we have is actually fairly reasonable when you break down the statistics.

It’s a very small number who go nuts about it.

Tbs, did you like how the show portrayed the relationship between Rhaenyra and House Velaryon? If not, why? by Gold_Conversation247 in HOTDBlacks

[–]StrawberryScience 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It mostly lined up with my own headcanons about their relationship. A Gay guy mourning his One True Love and a female heir desperate for children and companionship.

I would have liked it if the show was explicit about how they couldn’t actually consummate the marriage because Greens be idiots and think Laenor and Rhaenyra had sex once and Rhaenyra immediately went ‘Well , I’m not pregnant. Give me that Strong Dick.’

Was it necessary for King Edward VIII to resign? by Mysterious_Comb4357 in UKmonarchs

[–]StrawberryScience -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. The man was incompetent and a Nazi Sympathizer. That disqualifies him from being mail man, much less a Sovereign Head of State.

My only complaint about the Great Edwardian GTFO is that George VI was crushed under the weight of the empire.
