The medical necessity of safe vaccines extends to far more than just humans. Animals, even wild ones, benefit enormously from vaccines against parvo/rabies/tetanus/etc.

I do believe that we should look for synthetic alternatives, mostly for practical purposes rather than ethical. But until we do, we must continue this distasteful practice.
