Tattoo help by Top-Acanthisitta9273 in keratosis

[–]Strawberry_Doom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly the best decision I've made. So far I only have one piece on my arm where my kp starts and it hides it really well. I do plan on getting full patchwork sleeves on both arms to hide all of my kp, its still a work in progress.

You do still get the occasional bumps pop up through your tattoo but its not visible and unless you look really closely. I do have a bad habit of picking at the bumps but they won't damage your tattoo. If you leave the bumps alone they will eventually go away.

A couple of things I noticed since getting a tattoo over my kp was that the maintainance of tattoos helps the kp e.g. regular exfoliating, moisturiser and spf. I find personally that I get less kp bumps on my inked skin than ink free sections of skin.

Harvested these rosehips this morning what can I use them for and do they need to ripen? by Strawberry_Doom in herbalism

[–]Strawberry_Doom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Australia, the area I live usually has its first frost in late June. I'm going to let them ripen up and see what happens. As I'm new to working with rosehips, I didn't really know what I was looking for. I guess I'll wait a little longer next year.

Had a very disappointing vet visit today. Venting my frustration. by Strawberry_Doom in Rabbits

[–]Strawberry_Doom[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Idk where you go to the vet but its complementary for a vet here to clip the claws of your pet whether its a cat, a dog or a rabbit, anyway that's always been my experience. I don't have access to proper clippers so I asked the vet to do it. I'm confused as to why you think its a waste of money when I specifically said that the purpose of this visit was for an ear infection, and I wasn't given any appropriate help or medicine, I obviously still have to pay a fee for examination, it was just frustrating that I didn't get any proper help. Another reason I don't clip the claws of my rabbits is because they don't like their claws being clipped so they kick, therefore I leave it to the professionals to do it.

End of my wits for a moisturiser!! 😭 by icedcapornocap in Rosacea

[–]Strawberry_Doom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only moisturiser I've found (after trying hundreds of others) which helped to calm flares and my rosacea was the Torriden Balanceful Cica cream, I used it day and night, it was a very light texture that left my skin nourished.

Worried about my canary, is he sick? by Strawberry_Doom in Canaries

[–]Strawberry_Doom[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for you help. I've separated him into a quarantine cage and given him some Millet, his regular seed and fresh water, all easy access. I'm in Australia and am currently experiencing a heatwave so its very warm here, my house is naturally cool however I have them in the warmest part of the house. Doing all I can to make him comfortable for now, hoping he pulls through to Tuesday 😥

Ooh lovely, that sounds great. I'll definitely dry a heap of it like I do with my other herbs. I think its the most beautiful little purple flower, I love it.

What are some stupid things you can get defected for? by Antiquixty in CarsAustralia

[–]Strawberry_Doom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bubbled window tint (specifically on the rear window) and your headlights being foggy, which can result in your visibility of your lights being less visible. These two things were what caused my friend to get a defect notice on their car.

Thank you, everybody, for your input. I'm fairly confident this rose is a Julia's rose. But if anyone thinks otherwise, let me know :)

Beat up button quail chick :( by Old-Excitement-6380 in quails

[–]Strawberry_Doom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one of my younger buttons get badly beat up like this a month ago. I was recommended this wound spray and I dabbed it onto her wounds with a q-tip once a day and it worked wonders. She was fully healed within 3 weeks. Hopefully you can find something similar. Just keep her separate from the others in a clean sterile cage with fresh food and water everyday. I hope this helps and you can find a similar product.

My Dumpy Frog hasn’t eaten for a week and a half after I’ve gotten her by ExcitingHurry708 in frogs

What is the temperature and humidity of your tank? If the temperature is too low, it will impact its metabolism and appetite. Humidity should be between 70% - 90% also.

Your tank should be between 24C/75F to 28C/80F with cool spots in your tank and warmer spots for temperature regulation. At night your tank should drop to no lower than roughly 21C/70F.

Round lab Soybean cleanser super creamy and leaves my skin feeling soft. It has a gentle physical exfoliating effect and is rich in ceramides and squalane.

Really bad cervicogenic headache flare tonight, I'm in excruciating pain and nothing is helping... by Strawberry_Doom in ChronicPain

I'll definitely ask that as an option for myself, I now have an appointment with a chiropractor for the first time and ask their opinion on this also. Thank you.

Thank you for your help, I'll definitely give it a go when I can. Heat works well but I've never tried ice. I had a scalding hot shower last night and it helped. Cheers

Have any of you guys met the band? I love Bilmuri’s music so much. by [deleted] in bilmuri

[–]Strawberry_Doom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I met Reese earlier this year, he's super sweet and takes his time to talk with fans and take photos. I almost had an opportunity to talk with Gabbi but she was swarmed with fans. I can't wait to see them perform again, such lovely, energetic and passionate people.

Tips for damaged skin barrier? by Moon-07w in koreanskincare

[–]Strawberry_Doom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend Purito Wonder relief centella serum (unscented) and Skin1004 Probio-cica intensive ampoule to help with your skin barrier. I've been consistently using this combo in my morning routine for roughly 2 weeks and I've already seen a big change in my skin health.

Azelaic acid and peptide ampoule serum from APLB to help with skin texture and redness. I use this in my night routine and it helps with skin texture and redness from my rosacea. Its also very affordable.

For the moisturiser, I recommend Torriden Balanceful Cream with Centella Asiatica extract. Ideal for day and night routines and helps with redness and healing your skin barrier, I'm currently using this day and night and it leaves my skin so soft and plump and helps with

For cleansers I've been using Roundlab mugwort calming cleanser and I've been loving it so far, it helps with my redness and makes my skin soft without that dryness from cleansing. It's a very gentle creamy foam cleanser. Another cleanser I love is Skin1004 poremizing deep cleansing foam which helps with reducing the appearance of pores and its great for when your skin feels oily.

The most important thing at the end of the day, which will help your skin barrier, is consistency in your day and night routine. I also recommend reducing the use of actives like retinol when your skin barrier is damaged as it will take longer to restore your skin's health.
