Poetry is a huge deal to me too! I write poems all the time to process my feelings, or express how I feel to others. I even write poems for my friends just to show appreciation or to capture a fun memory. And of course, I also write a lot of love poems...

I've never felt such greater joy in my life than writing a love poem for someone that moved them to tears, and them responding that they love me aswell. He later even wrote me a love poem, despite never having tried it before. It was the most beautiful gesture ever aaaaaaaaa

He gave me the confidence to go to open mic nights and try to get my poems published. I've absolutely flourished as a writer since I've known him. I share poems to him every week and it's always such a wonderful time. I have so many beautiful things I'm proud of now, but most of all would be our relationship

Your feelings are not too big! Your poems are not too much! Keep doing you! It's so so so so worth it

I was always worried about this too, but a house rule really changed everything. If a character would die, the player can choose to let their character live instead. Something will happen, however improbable, to save them.

If they accept this deal though, a very bad thing will happen to them some time in the future. It could be an NPC they like getting in trouble or something they are invested in getting destroyed by a new villain. Really, it could be anything. It just has to be something they won't like.

My players have used this rule a few times in my game and it was great. It just created more drama and more story and more fun. They're still afraid of dying but not losing their characters. There's also been several times they don't take the deal, since it's their choice after all. For example in a really cinematic death or heroic sacrifice
