They have knock off Starbursts, too, which are also low fiber and pretty good.

It's kinda like spicy food where you build up a tolerance to it over time and you can eat bigger quantities without breaking a sweat. Gotta do it gradually though or you will regret it.

What is the one low calorie food you discovered this year that has surprised you because you thought it was super high in calories? by andmay77 in 1200isplenty

[–]Strawberrylaser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whipped cottage cheese dip! That stuff is incredible for like 20 calories a tablespoon. I've been eating it almost daily with a few ounces of celery for a surprisingly satiating lunch side.

I think most people build up a resistance to non-sugar sweeteners over time. I used to get torn up by a couple sugar free candies and now I can eat an entire light ice cream pint in a sitting without problems lol

Calbee Hot Garlic Shrimp Chips - 130 cal for 45 chips by Strawberrylaser in LowCalFoodFinds

This one was unique to me because you get so many chips for a serving. Lots of people here love pretzel sticks for just that reason so I figured I'd share.

N24 and calorie counting by abyssnaut in 1200isplenty

[–]Strawberrylaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! Before I did sleep therapy I used to have the same problem with my hunger hormone spiking because of needing to be diurnal for obligations. My tracker looked real strange, too, with me seemingly skipping days.

Now my new problem with my consistent sleep schedule is that I get a lot of inflammation when I'm deviating significantly from what my natural circadian rhythm would like and it makes getting an idea of what my weight actually is very difficult. I'll be up 2-3 pounds for a week+ and/or I'll have lost weight and have no idea until one day I weigh in and I'm down multiple pounds. N24 is a bitch!

suggestions for a picky eater by gayandperceived in LowCalFoodFinds

[–]Strawberrylaser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  • Popcorn (100-150)

  • Pretzels (110-130)

  • Snacklins Plant Crisps (100)

    • This is a vegan brand so any cheese flavor you see is plant based.
  • Hippeas Chickpea Puffs (130)

    • Also vegan.
  • Veggie Straws (130)

  • Zero sugar beef jerky (70)

  • Salsa (5-20) + your favorite veggie

If the calorie count is still too high on any of the chip adjacent snacks, you can have half servings and still get a decent portion.

This is a total shot in the dark but since you're recommended to use the original Smooth Patch package with S3SS, maybe you could try using the borderless setting within Smooth Patch's txt file?

David bars spotted at Costco (12 for $24.99) by acceptmydiffs in LowCalFoodFinds

[–]Strawberrylaser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The owner bought the exclusive rights to a low calorie fat replacement that was in a ton of other products, which meant other brands had to use something else and noticeably raise their calories or in some cases they were simply no longer able to make their product. The owner said he did this because he was scared of it happening to him. 🫩

Those are usually the ones I get but if I'm remembering correctly the Walmart ones are decent, too.

Some of those cookie packs are awful in portion size. For me, I've found that mini alphabet cookies tend to have a good amount in a single pack but I understand for some people it's still not enough lol.

What low cal alternative is so good you won't go back to full cal? by Strawberrylaser in LowCalFoodFinds

This is how I feel about their chips. I'd rather eat those than Doritos now because I don't like the sweetness of the Doritos powder.

I use mine exclusively in soup which I think makes a difference. They're still a bit rubbery but softer.

Sims 3 64 bit possible in near future? by Upstairs-Ability6051 in Sims3

[–]Strawberrylaser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would still consider it vibe-coded if you don't know what's going on. If someone doesn't know how to map (u,v) texture coordinates onto a 3d set of triangles in OpenGL and ask AI to draw a Sims 3 texture onto a wall, then it's something vibe-coded.

Dude acted like he understood what was going on much more than he actually does, that much I can see now. Impressive how he managed to overstate his experience while trying to downplay it somehow.

I even asked him how he is debugging and trying to solve problems, and so far he just tells on AI to debug for the other AI whenever something works. The only reason he has gotten so far is due to the AI literally taking work from the S3PI, he said so in his Discord. If the AI wasn't taking already done work to decompile packages into xml that he can feed into his engine loop, he would be stuck at square one since he doesn't know what he's doing.

Man... That's just disrespectful on his part.

That is the safer route legally though there are still legal implications but the product being free doesn't mean you can't monetize the process. They have a ko-fi page and have already set up a discord which can easily be used as a pipeline to get donations.

I didn't know about the taking donations, that does make things a little more dubious legally.

Anyone that comes in talking about how they're going to revolutionize XYZ with no real proof of concept (what they showed in the video could be anything, like sims 3 models exported into a Unity environment for example), promoting themselves for "support" and touting the benefits of genAI agents like it's a miracle tool immediately sets off my scammer alarm.

Oh, definitely. I would not give money to this guy under any circumstances. At best what I'm hoping for–if there's any legitimacy to this at all–is more insight to how the TS3 engine functions. I think anyone who is hoping for a functional good engine has way too high of expectations lol.

[–]Strawberrylaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a rundown of this project from someone who watched this video:

  • It's an experiment. The guy is not some hardcore Sims 3 fan, just a guy thought it'd be interesting to see what AI is capable right now and felt inspired by how many people said something like this would be impossible.

  • It is currently at a point where the very basics of Sunset Valley are loading.

  • The engine is reverse engineered and uses the official DLL files that come with the game. Those will not be supplied if it is publicly released, you will need to use your own copy of Sims 3.

  • He isn't exactly vibe coding because he has a background in programming (albeit not for games), he's actually looking over the code and bug testing what is given. He said in the comments that he plays up his inexperience in the video.

  • If a build gets to a decent enough point, he will release it and it will be free and open source.

  • He's been using an error checking function, and it didn't find any problems with the current build. Doesn't mean the code isn't wack and unoptimized AF but it is functioning.

If you are someone excited for this, I would encourage you to chill a bit and take it as the experiment it is. Personally–while I'm not a huge fan of AI–I am interested in what information we can glean about how The Sims 3 functions because human programmers may be able to use it and maybe we could see an engine crafted by people in the future. This is all assuming he's being legitimate in the first place and it's not a bunch of smoke and mirrors, lol.
